  • I've been learning precalc, second half of a 2 semester bio class, and developmental psychology. And on a more MFP note I've been learning more about training strategies for preparing for my first century ride, I'll just have to find one between semesters to knock it out.
  • So, I have still not been on a scale to see how much I actually weigh. I am fairly confident that I am somewhere between 225 and 235, but even if I knew the number for sure I know it needs to go down. I have however, gone from a 44 inch waist measurement in the beginning of March to 43 inches, and I measure that at my true…
  • Here are my answers to @NoAnalHere questions. 1. Does my diet flop on the weekends, heck it flops sometimes in the middle of the week, but I don't worry about it too much as long as I don't go to far over because with my allowed calories per day of 2250 plus riding my bike 2 or 3 times a week, when I do my long rides I…
  • @Nikion901 thank you for sharing that link. I found the article fascinating and it actually makes sense. I guess I have a better idea on how to lose weight now.
  • @Nikion901 it sounds like I am one of the people that article was aimed at. I typically eat breakfast anywhere from 7am until 11am if I eat it, and lunch therefore could be anywhere between 11:30 and 2:30, again that is if I eat it. Dinner then is anywhere between 4pm and 8pm. I am certainly trying to do better with that…
  • After a cold week which is no good for bike riding, and not feeling well on top of that, last week was not a good one. Luckily since I am not weighing but taking measurements weekly and just judging from day to day whether I feel comfortable at my current weight, which I do not. Measurements were the same on Friday so good…
  • @Nikion901 happy belated birthday.
  • So, I kind of fell off the wagon this week. I went way over on calories at least twice, and one of those two occasions I just gave up counting. Been sick, and dealing with an excessive amount of stress. We are taking the day tomorrow to go to Raleigh and get out of the house for a bit. Hopefully I can keep the calories…
  • I think I am going to go bust on calories for today. The Mrs. just told me she wants to go to Golden Coral. I guess I can just eat light and hope for the best.
  • I was just looking back at my calories since I've started taking, which has only been since the 27th last month so a littler over a week. The first 5 days I didn't do well at all. During that time I was been 2200 and 2500 each day and felt hungry. I also started riding my bike 3 days week week at the same time. Since…
  • I call them Gouda burgers, because I cut up gouda into small cubes and mix them into the meat before I make patties.
  • @billdwyatt at least it was only 200 calories and as we all know 1day isn't going to make or break you in the long run. @Nikion901 it is hard not to compare ourselves to others, but it does any of us any good as we are all different. Great job on finding the positive as that is what is important and keeps us going.
  • I struggle to drink enough water as well. I just get busy and simply forget just like I always forget my glasses.
  • My why really had to overcome alot of personal negativity and I am glad I have found it. I have always been one to go to the gym and lift, go running even though I didn't like it at all, or go hiking. I have always been pretty healthy and maintained at a comfortable weight for me. Then about 5 years ago I pretty much had…
  • I know exactly what you mean. I had an event change my life back in 2012 and it took me until this year to change my mental outlook on life to be able to start exercising again.
  • Another interesting fact to take into account when you are weighing yourself and all that. When you eat it takes 4 hours for what you have eaten to leave your stomach, and then it is going to be where it is going, either in your cells as energy or expelled from your system with in about 24 hours after eating. So Bill if…
  • Bill are you asking me about the "certain carbs"? If so I'm not sure I follow what you are asking.
  • I'm fairly new to my fitness pal, and have just started looking through the community pages and find your thread and found it interesting. I have always been into exercising but 5 years ago suffered a neck and back injury so I can relate to the medical issues causing difficulties with weight loss/ control. Some things I…
