Thanks so much for the transparency and insight! Especially you, Feeling. I don't have depression per se, and had thought about subbing foods and haven't implemented that. I know that I like carbs (not so much sweets as carbs in general) way too much. But recently I discovered I like pickled items like beets, artichoke…

thanks Pam. Well, I took a day off from counting cals. I discovered that I don't think about what I eat and how much if I don't have to report in so no more of that!
-
I'm sorry Pam. I'm not sure what you mean?

Thanks so much everyone! I am finding that its also very tempting, when I'm tired, to bug hubby to go get dinner out. But have only done that once in four weeks, so I'm feeling pretty good. I have never heard of lexapro? What does it do? I've had one doctor suggest a medication that is supposed to suppress appetite but to…

UPDATE! For the past year I've tried to break under 240 with zero success. In fact I GAINED weight using the various and sundry diet plans I was put on. Well, I began on here 11 days ago at 245. I am now down to 238. :)

Can I take a moment to say I'm really proud of myself. I know we shouldn't boast but sometimes... Normally I used eating outside the home as an excuse for a real piggery. I didn't do that last night! I tried to calculate and I did very well if my calculations are even close to right. Mostly I went by portion sizes, which…

Nobody else got sick, no. Hubby and son ate it as well. So I"m guessing you're right and my gut is not liking weird things! Thanks!

So far so good! Daughter hasn't tried it yet. And yes, you're right. It may not work for her but its as good a plan as any I guess. One thing I am noticing is that eating anything from a source outside of my own isn't necessarily a good idea. Last night I saved up calories so I could enjoy dinner at a meeting I go to every…

Thanks ya all. Right now I'm going to focus on what I'm doing. It actually is working for me.

I'm seriously counting every morsel. Of course my foods are easy to calculate. I had been on the 1200 calorie diet for years and then stopped losing and stymied for a year. That's when I got down and gained some back. Dr. says it was too low.

So far so good. Its been 9 days (by my count) and so far so good! Not only have I stayed within the calorie count, those little temptations have been shaken off with the reminder that I've come this far..don't mess up now! One thing I wonder about and maybe someone here has experienced this. I have a daily intake allowance…

Very simple. All around it are measures for whichever kind you use, millileters or ounces, etc. You push the plunger (flat top of the white inner part) down to the desired measure, fill the empty space with the product (honey, mayo) and then plunge it wherever you want it, be it into a mixture, over a vegetable or into a…

I tried my own in an air fryer and discovered they just didn't have enough room. Oven baking, however, allows for more room and a larger quantity to be cooked at once. Just a thought :)

I count carbs to a point. Im a recovered diabetic type 2. My sugars have been stable for 2 years in spite of it all and my a1c has been fantabulous so thats not really an issue anymore, thank goodness. Im finding its easier to do my own thing. I get a headache if I dicker too much with this stuff. Here's a sample of my…

Thanks to all who replied. I took time away from the forum to rework some things. Anyway, ended up deciding to design my own program. Been doing it 6 days and lost 2 pounds and no, its not about diet frozen meals lol. Those got old after a while and I stopped logging anyway.

I used fresh cauliflower in my recipe but I have to tell you the calorie count is lower on the recipe than in the Green Giant version. A "bag" of pre-riced cauliflower is about a pound.
-
Yeah I kind of figured. Anything that sounds too good to be true... etc. Thanks for the feedback! :)

thanks everyone!

Thanks everyone. I did decide to make up my own program and it seems to be working but DASH is within the program to a degree.

Thanks USMSMP. I got to thinking about why I gain back weight after being short term successful and it really came down to stressing myself trying to live within some ridiculous caloric confinement. The other thing is that I want to show my daughter that its possible to drop the weight without losing out on things you like…

I have a recipe for fake crab meat that I think is pretty good however, it feeds a herd! 1 large bag of imitation crab meat 1 cup light mayo or salad dressing 1/2 cup ranch dressing (lowfat, premade) 1 package hidden valley dry ranch seasoning 1 large or 2 small green zuccini 1/2 red onion, chopped 1 small can sliced black…

The last time I took a needy person a meal they told me they wanted money.

Its not so much forever... its to get goin. I need to drop 20 and it seems this is the only way to really do it that's feasible for me.

Well I've read everyone's ideas. I'm glad some people understand that if its in the house I'll eat it, unless there's a limit. For example, if I know I would be eating my husbands or son's meal, I won't do it. But extras and leftovers? They're in my mouth faster than bill knows who! So here's what I'm going to do. On…

61 here. And I think the biggest issue I have is that the young people around me don't get it. Please bear with me while I share my "Senior Moment". I decided to start working out. I went to a local gym and signed up. So far, so good, right? I get approached by a trainer. I thought: 99.00 isn't bad for four sessions. But…

Almost sorry I asked this question. So lets see if anyone gets it. I am addicted to food. If you ever watched MY 600 POUND LIFE you'd understand. So, I make a meal for six and divide it in half. Sounds easy, right? Or that fourth serving. Yeah okay. I save that one little bit? Um. IF ITS THERE I WILL EAT IT. But, if I have…
