I hope this is okay but sometimes it helps to review products and exchange newly discovered goodies with other people and them share with you.

I would like to put parameters on this, however,

When I say product reviews, I am NOT talking about new exercise machines or programs nor new diet plans or products that are sold off the internet.

I am talking about items that help you with your weight loss or gain or maintenance or food products that can be purchased in grocery stores.

In other words, please don't stump for Jillian Michaels or SPARK on here. They're nice, I'm sure. But not what I'm talking about.

That being said, let me introduce everyone to one of my new favorite kitchen gadgets:

Its called a measuring plunger.
I first saw one on Good Eats. Alton Brown was using one and I thought: thats GOT to be better than measuring out stuff by the teaspoon and having to scrape it out with a mini-spatula.

And it is. I've used mine for everything from mayo to honey to peanutbutter. It works very well and offers so many varieties of measurement you're never stuck trying to calculate.

I'm still using the clear plastic one. The one thing I will say is you kind of have to push the plunger through with your thumb to open it up. I suspect that's because both pieces are plastic and a tight fit.

I would not put them in the dishwasher. Even if it says you can.

You can buy them on the 'net but if you want to save S&H try ordering through Bed Bath and Beyond. Go into the store and have them order it to the store for you. If you have one nearby its worth the drive to save shipping costs.

How do you use this gadget?

Very simple. All around it are measures for whichever kind you use, millileters or ounces, etc. You push the plunger (flat top of the white inner part) down to the desired measure, fill the empty space with the product (honey, mayo) and then plunge it wherever you want it, be it into a mixture, over a vegetable or into a sandwich. You can also use it the measure things that aren't sticky.
