  • Do either of your neighbors offer up their homes on AirBnb? I could use a vacation.
  • I have three daughters within the ages of 3-7 and they are out of school for at least 4 weeks and I am forced to work remote. I feel your pain, and feel like this last six days has seemed like months. Climb the walls. Dance to stupid music. Do whatever you have to to entertain yourself. I watched Gonoodle with my ladies…
  • Just had to postpone my wedding due to the restrictions on group size...We have to eat a number of deposits. We aren't going to be selfish though, and feel like this will just add to our story.
  • Your response doesn't really address the point of my post. Of course the fork matters, however, are people going to be less active now because of this pandemic than they were before? The calories being delivered by the fork can stay the same, but if activity level decreases then CO does as well which affects weight.…
  • Well shucks, I don't have dinosaur socks, but I do have a couple different pairs of penguin socks.
  • Long can be dangerous.
  • No wonder they are never where I left them.
  • Why do you ladies always have to claim my favorite sweatshirts as your own?
  • It might help if you quote the person you are trying to respond to. Between responses like the one above, and your random made up labels and definitions of keto, I am finding you extremely hard to follow. Just a page or two back you flat out said you didn't think you are in ketosis, yet you seem to think you are doing the…
  • Exactly this. Its funny how the only carbs that seem to be addictive are the most palatable ones, and not the carbs you find in vegetables. I've never seen anyone mass consuming cauliflower just to get a fix. Lack of self control does not equal addiction.
  • Can you eat carbs on Keto? Oh wait, I forgot that you can't eat them regardless because of your "addiction"...
  • So according to this logic, there shouldn't be studies of any kind because its impossible to create a group with exactly identical stats? As Ann pointed out above, even accounting for changes in metabolism or muscle mass, there is not a dramatic difference in calories, and the formula for weight loss is the same for…
  • @GaleHawkins there is no such thing as "carb addiction", and I find it kind of insulting to anyone that has ever battled an addiction to imply there is. Keto is limiting but not completely eliminating all carbs. If a person were truly addicted, then breaking that addiction would require abstinence. An alcoholic wouldn't…
  • I don't think anyone is debating whether the entertainment industry is shallow. It does seem to be a valid point to make, however I would love to hear why anyone on those top twenty lists Bry provided qualifies as an "emaciated barbie." Is it because they are fit and beautiful? So we have stooped to the level of insulting…
  • You didn't need to identify anyone specifically, your comment was still judging another person based on their appearance which is pretty *kitten* of you in my opinion. It would be like if I said that it was nice to see thin people eating at a buffet and not just disgusting fat people. Regardless of whether I singled anyone…
  • Calling a thin woman an emaciated barbie doll seems just as bad to me as commenting on Lizzo's weight.
  • If you have it set to lose two pounds a week then MFP figures in a daily deficit of 1000 calories which is how it figured your goal calories at 2140. If you haven't lost any weight in two months, then you are most likely eating more than you think. Are you using a food scale and weighing everything you eat AND drink?
  • I would do more than just reconsider it if you are actually looking for longterm success. If 1700 calories daily is where you need to be for two pounds a week weight loss, then why in the world would you try to fast one day and then eat at 1200 calories the next? Starving yourself can cause all sorts of health issues, and…
  • Minimum protein requirements for the average human might not be that high, but for someone trying to add mass they are going to be much higher. I often have a hard time hitting my protein goals and supplementing with protein powder makes a lot more sense for me than just eating more food. On top of that, its extremely…
  • OMG, seriously, there always has to be that one person...As much as I am sure the OP appreciates you hijacking their thread to talk about "optimizing" fat loss, can we please try to stick to the topic at hand and not make it about your own personal beliefs? If you don't believe that CICO is the ultimate factor in fat loss,…
  • I think a lot of the reason you see more flack in the Impossible Whopper vs regular Whopper discussion is because from what I hear(I admittedly haven't tried it yet) they did such a good job imitating the real thing. I am not saying that makes it deserving of more criticism, but when a product is created that has the look,…
  • That only proves that a good percentage of the population is stupid. I'm not saying that more education is a bad thing, but let's face it, there are always going to be uneducated people regardless of the topic. Some people have zero interest in learning.
  • I had the same thoughts when I first read the post as well until I read it a second time. After re-reading the post, I interpreted it that its fine for people to eat whatever they like, and live whatever lifestyle they like, but don't go lecturing others about their lifestyles if you don't have experience actually…
  • I don't see how this makes a bit of difference. My maintenance calories are closer to 3000-3500 daily, but because I expend a ton of energy during workouts its very easy for me to consume that many, or more. If I wasn't conscious about how many calories I was consuming it would be very easy to go over and gain weight.
  • I'd love to hear your explanation for the bolded. If calories aren't the primary cause of weight gains or losses, what is? That's like saying that money isn't the primary factor in whether you have savings or debt. If both cases, if you have an excess, you will end up with weight gain, or savings, and if you don't have…
  • Exactly. Having more data points to compare is going to paint the most accurate picture. I could very easily weigh the same thing today as I do the same day next week, but because of fluctuations, its the trend that matters and not a single data point(or two).
  • Agreed. Its no different than if a woman wanted to wear a dress that they found flattering to a formal event instead of a pantsuit. People should be able to wear what they are most comfortable in without worrying about whether a stranger is going to sexualize that outfit. There are obviously limits as to what would…
  • You have been given mostly good advice in this thread other than the one person who thinks eating "clean" is a requirement which its not. At this point, I think you need to focus on a good strength training program and stick to the recomp idea with the understanding that it is a slow process. You aren't going to see…
