I recently bought xanthum gum for protein fluff but I think my protein powder is really letting the taste down. I’ve read casein powders are best for it but I’m a noob when it comes to this topic. Any recommendations for a protein powder for fluff that doesn’t taste like licking an aluminum can full of aspartame? 🙄

Best Protein Fluff recipe? I’m looking for fewest fancy ingredients. I have a stocked kitchen in general but currently don’t have xanthan gum. Is it essential?

I had a bit of a pity-party after going through 3 straight weeks of -35 degree Celsius or worse weather and bought myself a milk frother for coffee. Today I put 1/3 cup of chocolate milk that is lower sugar, higher protein in it and added my French press coffee. Was delicious and worked out to 3g sugar, 5g protein, ~40cals

Perfect, thanks!

Similar #s for me: I’m 5’ 10” and 153lbs. Looking to lose around 10lbs, finding it quite difficult. Eating ~1400 cals a day but not eating back exercise calories apart from maybe 150cals if I do an especially long run. Quite active in general. What’s a typical day of eating for those of you who are eating around the same…

Ummm, "the SMART supporters"? SMART is an acronym for a form of organizing behaviour changes. It stands for Specific Measurable Attainable Realistic & Time-Bound ... a good organization tool/exercise when you're trying to change anything in your life. The only other one I could think of off the top of my head was "weight…

Hm, it keeps cutting my long-*kitten* posts off: 2. Umm, I guess I'm crushing it in my half marathon training. I have a pretty good plan I follow and could definitely help some new runners with how to get started. Oh and I know stuff about heart, lungs, smoking cessation, etc. Could answer some questions on that.

Sounds like a hospital shift. Are you looking at your steps etc on your phone? Apart from the early mornings, I couldn't figure out how I could be SO bagged after 12 hours (like barely able to bike the 10min home). Then I looked at my steps and realized I was at like 25,000 most days; many of those steps more like…

Weird. It didn't let me send half of my comment, I think? Do you make daily/weekly exercise and diet goals? Do you subscribe to any particular eating plan?

Yeah, I can see how it would be hard to get to the gym or wherever if your job is already active. And as much as I said I don't find the exercise part as difficult I definitely skipped the gym today sooo...

I'm also interested! I'm a healthcare professional too (respiratory therapist). Looking to lose around 20lbs. Also pretty active-- I find it harder to stick to the diet side of diet and exercise.

Oh! Didn't consider that this isn't tracking my micros somewhat accurately. Hah! Haven't gone for blood work in a long time but doc hasn't commented... it was just one of the major cations I kept falling short on in my tracking and I know it's an important one for the heart.

About 3/4 cup 2% plain Greek yogurt, 1tbsp dark cocoa powder, 1 tbsp maple syrup, 1/2 tbsp "gold" Nescafé instant espresso... sounds and tastes naughty but if you're eating yogurt with sugar added this is probably a healthier option. I often have this for breakfast with berries.

PS... I just fat-fingered a friend request (declined it by accident)! I cant remember your screen name but it started with a B... try again pls?
