  • Thanks everyone for the responses! I just wanted to make sure That it’s “normal” because I don’t feel hungry or thirsty for the most part so I really don’t want to over do it and stretch out my new stomach! I am having a hard time even getting 60 grams of protein in a day so today I mixed some almond milk with the shake to…
  • Yeah the first day was the worse but I am also a ween when it comes to pain so there’s that! Fist day home had a hard time sleeping since I am a side sleeper and it hurts way to much to lay on my side!!! Found a somewhat comfortable spot on the couch, but it takes me almost the full 15 minutes to sip one ounce of water or…
  • Yeah I did it!!! I was very nervous yesterday going in since I’ve never been in the hospital, never had a broken bone, stitches or anything so I was very nervous!!! 😬 I will have to say yesterday was hard just like I thought it would be but today I am doing great! My upper GI came back fine so I am sipping on some chicken…
  • @loveshoe I get it!! When I was trying so hard to get back to the weight needed to qualify I was weighing everyday!!! And now that I’ve been on the pre-op liquid I find myself still weighing everyday, wanting to see how much I loose everyday!! The past two days I’ve lost nothing, which scares me since I’m only drinking…
  • I have just a few days left before surgery (5 days!!! 😳) but I can only have sf crystal light, sf jello, Gatorade zero, decaf tea & coffee and protein shakes so that sounds wonderful, but I can’t have yogurt or cottage cheese. 😕 it’s silly how much I miss actual good food now, it’s not even the junk food I’m craving!!! A…

  • Thanks everyone for the support! I will probably need it!! Started my liquid diet today, every time I think about surgery I get a tad nervous! (Like Loveshoe said fear of the unknown!) How much do you typically loose on the only liquid diet? I was only eating one meal a day and the rest of the day was 2 premier shakes and…
  • I know I do!!! I'm off during the summer and unless we are doing something I am a huge tv watcher (I know terrible habit) and I miss sitting on the couch just eating whatever and watching tv!!! I am doing well so far this summer (helps that there isn't much food in the house 🙂) I haven't had surgery yet so I know the…
  • I am going to have to try some of these they sound good! I've only been drinking the premier protein shakes so far!
  • I'm with you....Other than this group, the only people in my life who know I am trying to get surgery is my spouse, my mother-in-law, and one coworker. I just don't think it's their businesses and I don't want all the negative comments!

  • Ok bit of an update.... Went to my primary dr for my weigh in and low and behold I met the weight requirement again! 😜 I even lost more than my Surgeon wanted by 6 pounds!!! Now I'm waiting to see if insurance will approve it this time!! Fingers crossed!! But on a side note we made the bad decision that once we met the…

  • Just going out in public scares me since there is too much temptation out there! My will power hasn't been that good in the past and it's harder when you see the junk you shouldn't be eating around every corner! So any kind of family get together or outing is hard!
  • So my recent nsv happened today, I took out a pair of capris I haven't been able to wear in over a year and they fit today! (Which means I've gone down a pant size!)

  • So I realized that I have been logging my food but I haven't been checking the group since I posted this!! I just finished school (I am a teacher) so no I am free for the summer! I am still staying on track and waiting to see if insurance will approve me when I meet with the dr in a few days. I am hoping so because I have…

  • Well looks like another three months....my insurance denied the request. Hopefully it will go through at the 6 month mark and until then continue to work at weight loss, eating and drinking slower.
  • Well I haven't been to active on here since I've been on a few trips the last week weeks, needless to say had a lot of mess ups with eating while on vacation! It's hard but now I know it's something I have to work on! I gained weight but lost it all in a week back at home, so I am proud of that! But I am actually really…

  • I see this is an old thread but I hope to add mine in a few month when I have some more changes!!
  • Same with me, we don't keep those items in the house otherwise it would be bad!! I know that I will be in situations like yours though when visiting family and going back to work, but I am honestly hoping I can keep telling myself it's not worth it and turn the items down. As far as having it in your house maybe explaining…

  • I can completely understand what your saying saralynn9230...I know I need to change my life and surgery is looking like the best option for me but the idea scares me also! I have never had any surgeries ever and that alone scares me! I have a low tolerance for pain also so with the sleeve being a major surgery I am afraid…
  • I haven't been told or even suggested a goal weight from my surgeon or my primary dr. I myself want to loose at least 150 pounds. I just started this whole process and haven't had surgery yet but, my starting weight was 369 and currently weigh 345.4. My BMI is off the chart so I know I would like to have a BMI that's not…
  • So it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be....he didn't ask very many questions. I had to fill out a huge questionnaire before getting the appointment and at the appointment I filled out another questionnaire basically asking the same questions. I thought it would have been more of a lets talk about some of the answers…
  • @jcavanna2 I think I will be making those deli boxes for when I go back to work from Summer vacation they sound like something I would enjoy. Thanks for the idea!
  • Haven't had surgery yet but you can add me! Would be nice to get new food ideas (instead of eating the same things over and over)!
  • [quote="MrsCarrieRobinson;c-40045730" My rewards are clothes. Since my body is changing so quickly I tend to get new to me clothes to save $$ but when I hit a milestone I buy something nice. I haven't decided on an end goal reward just yet. [/quote] I think this will probably be might short term reward as well!! I will…
  • Looks like we might have surgery at the same time! I too am looking to get the process moving! I might be approved for end of September or October but my insurance might also not approve until November or December, but I'm hoping for October. I've been able to stay within the calorie goal of 1370 (to get the amount of…
  • I am here also, I read a lot of post but don't post a lot. I have have finally decided to do something about my weight before I hit 400 lbs! It's a whole lifestyle change and I am doing well so far. I mean I still have major food cravings and I'm not perfect all the time but who is? I just remind myself that I'm not doing…
  • Yes let's do this!! I have at least 150 to get rid of and I don't want to find it again either!! The food cravings have been the hardest for me...and tv commercials don't help!! Feel free to add me! I could use some non-family encouragement & accountability!
  • Thank you all for the advice. My primary dr is very helpful and so far has been helpful in starting the process. My coordinator has already given me a run down of the surgery and the first four months afterwards including literature on the process and what my diet will look like.
  • @Pneschich I just started almost a month ago....went to a seminar about the process and surgeries offered, seen the coordinator (wait time for me is 6 months but right now there might be a chance that it would be approved in 3, which I'm scared about) going to support group meetings, eating less, and tracking everything I…
  • I also am considering wls and looking for support and suggestions for cravings (sweet & carbs). I have been overweight my whole adult life and after years of thinking I could loose it without surgery I am thinking now I have wasted enough years and need to take control of my weight! I am 40 and my weight is 360. I know…
  • Tjjody I have just started this process also. I have for years said I'll do it on my own but here I am almost 41, 360lbs (not my highest but close enough), and need to loose the weight. Best of luck in your journey!!
