This. Calories are what matters for weight loss. Macros are what matters for satiety, and that varies greatly between people. Personally, I do much better on a higher carb diet.

It's usually hereditary-one of my kids, my husband and then my mil all have missing adult teeth that never formed.

The Fairlife plant is local to me, so I bought it once as way to support local jobs. But no one in my family liked it and we ended up throwing it away. I was bummed because I have a lactose intolerant kid and it's supposed to be ok for that, but no go. So I still buy 3 different kinds of milk-almond for her, 2% for husband…

My current breakfast is 2 slices of sprouted whole grains bread, toasted, and two triangles of light cheese spread. 170 calories and it keeps me feeling full for several hours.

Pre-planning out your days is a great way to help with this. If you know that you have a meal out or an event coming up, then you can enter that first and then plan the rest of the day around it.

I don't label foods. I control my weight by my calorie intake. Having a lower weight gives me good health markers (I have around 5 years of data that shows this). I've had great blood test results while eating the antitheses of a 'healthy' diet. I've had great blood test results while eating a very nutrient dense,…

Thing is-the further along into maintenance you go, the easier it is to do the whole mind games thing. I honestly do not have any memory of how I looked and felt back before my weight loss phase-none. I don't remember feeling run down. I don't remember always being out of breath from walking. I don't remember having a hard…

I live in the Midwest and that's not the case at all at the grocery stores around me. They all have a large selection of full fat options. eta: Back in the day I experimented with a 'paleo' way of eating. I had no problem doing this with store bought food options.

I actually enjoyed hanging clothes-it was a relaxing process :) It did get annoying to have clothes all over the place though lol.
-
I went two years without a dryer, with a family of 5. I just hung things on 3 clothes racks and then strung over chairs and such. And yeah, totally get you on hand washing- we frequently did that when I was a kid as well. I love my washing machine now :)

It really varies. We live in a 3,000 sq ft house, in the Midwest and our electric bill fluctuates between $124-$150 a month. Gas bill: it's $20-$30 during the summer months. This past winter we moved here and we used a pellet stove instead of a furnace. We spent around $150 a month on pellets and our gas bill, separate…

Numbers will vary greatly on based on location, but when I was single and had an apartment my numbers were -rent $500 (included gas/heat, trash) -electric around $50 a month -renter's insurance $20 -trac phone $10 a month -no car payment, because I paid cash for my 15 year old truck (which gave me many years, even through…

You can still eat fast food and frozen foods, you just eat it less frequently. I'm actually eating a Lean Cuisine right now-it's the Vermont cheddar one, so 1 grain and 1 dairy. Then I added an entire bag of (steamer) California blend veggies to it, so 3 veggies. I also added 3 ounces of canned chicken, which is 3 protein,…

I started using the DASH protocol as a guideline (I'm in good health and already in maintenance, but wanted a plan to follow for a balanced diet). For me personally-I LOVE it :) I'm not super hard core about it, but it really clicked with how I already like eating, and I like the way it's set up vs straight calorie…

This. You're supposed to be at maintenance calorie levels on your non-fasting/ 'up' days, not still be at a calorie deficit.
-
Yep, it's the method I did back during my weight loss phase (JUDDD). Worked well for me and I had no problem transitioning into maintenance.

Nothing wrong with wanting to lose weight for aesthetics. But, there are quite a few of us here who did lose the extra weight, due to health conditions that were improved with the weight loss, (I normalized a prediabetic glucose number, for example).

Whole wheat tortilla shells with refried beans, veggies, black olives and hot sauce. I have this 2-3 times a week.
-
I'm maintaining a lower bmi, 19.9ish, and my calorie intake is around 1,600 a day.
-
I got into that situation because I didn't understand how CICO worked. Once I figured that out I lost the extra weight and improved all my health markers-all without making a lot of changes to the kinds of foods I ate. I just started eating them in the correct calorie amounts.
-
I used to be overweight and yes, it was as simple as learning how CICO worked and then applying it. Nothing wrong with doing keto if that helps you hit your calorie targets, but it's a bit odd that you're assuming that focusing on CICO doesn't work for others who have struggled with their weight.

It's the profanity filter.

I currently use the DASH protocol as a guideline and my staples are- -Grains- (5-7 servings a day) -whole wheat tortilla shells -multi-grain flat bread -sprouted whole grains bread -whole grains like oats, brown rice etc -chili cheese fritos :) -Dairy- (3 servings a day) -light cheese spread (Aldi version of Laughing Cow)…

HT is awesome and I'm not even a fan of ice cream lol. Impatiently waiting to try the new flavors!
-
Lean Cuisine Vermont White Cheddar Mac n Cheese, with 1 bag of California blend veggies (steamer bag), and 1 can of chicken. Mixed together with Sweet Baby Ray's Sweet n' Sour sauce. I could eat this combo every day, no regrets lol.
-
No need to cut out the foods you enjoy, you just need to learn how to fit them into your calorie goals. If you enjoy sweet treats then work them in.
-
I took before pictures and now 4 years into maintenance I still look at them once in a while. It's a good reminder to myself of where I started-keeps me focused and gives me a kick in the bum when I feel like getting lazy with this whole thing.

A high quality coffee makes all the difference. I went from dumping flavored creamers in, to now drinking it black with 1/2 pkt of splenda. I buy high quality beans and grind them myself. Cost wise it's about the same because while I'm now spending $10-$12 on a bag, I no longer have to buy creamer, which was $3 or more a…

(Coffee when I get up at around 6am) 9am-10am: 2 slices sprouted whole grains bread, toasted, with 2 triangles of light cheese spread. 170 calories/2 grains, 1 dairy (DASH protocol)
