That was me 391 days ago (6’2” 153lbs.). MFP really helped me understand and get a handle on my calorie intake. I’m now 182lbs. And very happy with the progress. Good Luck

Just hit the big 40

Married, just turned 40. I’m 6’2” and spent my 30s hovering between 210-240lbs. And they were never good lbs. Just before I turned 39 I decided that I wouldn’t live my 40s as soft as I lived my 30s. Unfortunately, chemo and steady state cardio cut me down to 153lbs. I looked sick. In the last year, I’ve put on nearly…

I’m down almost 10lbs on 1590 cals + exercise cals, so usually around 1800 for the day. When it comes to moving more, I think your one year goal is going to really helpful. You can afford to start slow. I have a pretty hardcore breathing condition and when I bought my treadmill 3 years ago, I started walking at 1mph for 15…

I wait for my wife on the nights she works out. I survive this by having my dessert smoothie (protein powder, fruit, milk) before dinner so I don’t overeat during the meal because I’ve decided to eat 4 hours later than normal

I’m looking to “cut” off 10-15lbs. Before my birthday in 6 weeks

I’m super picky too. So when I was planning my nutrition, I looked at ways to shave calories but still eating things I like. One of my favorites is when I make tacos. Instead of beef or pork, I’d make chicken. And instead of flour tortillas, I’d use corn tortillas or just rice. Those 2 tricks would help me shave a few…

I was able to stop a lot of those comments when I updated my wardrobe because of the weight loss. The same XXL shirt that I wore at 240 made me look sick at 160.

10 months ago I hit an all-time low adult weight of 153 (I'm 6'2"), after years of not working out, on/off chemo, and surgeries. Right now I'm eating almost anything I want to get to 4000 daily "balanced" calories (50/25/25 macros) Right now I'm feeling successful, because I have a picture from last June and I look sick (a…

Like many have said, logging is real important. For 2 years of walking, without MFP, I lost 1-2lbs. per month. After 3 months of walking, with MFP, 4lbs per month

39 here. Refusing to live my 40s as soft as I lived my 30s

nope. Although I'm not as adventurous as you. 1/2 cup of regular oats and 1 packet of maple and brown sugar. I know the packets aren't the "healthiest", but if I try to sweeten it myself, I always over do it

I weigh myself daily, but only look at weekly averages. If the weekly averages aren't headed the direction I want them to, I'll reevaluate my calories

I finished my 8-week cut yesterday. It worked, I lost 8.4 lbs. Now I’m starting a 16-week bulk to try to put on 20-25 lbs. (I feel a little small at 168 lbs for someone 6’2”)

A lot of those comments stop for me when I finally bought clothes that fit better.

I actually printed out a calendar my first 2 months of lifting, and got excited every time I got to cross out a workout or meal.

I tricked myself by buying “Wife-specific” treats. If I bought general, communal snacks, I’d devour them. Now I only buy snacks/sweets only she likes. And because I do the grocery shopping and cooking, if I break this habit, it was a conscious decision on my part.

I force myself to wake up 2 hours before my clients start work. This gives me time to lift weights, walk on my treadmill, and make breakfast. Sometimes that makes for really early mornings, but my body is worth it. I do it that way, so I will never be "too tired" later in the day.

I'm an Information Security Consultant (I hate that "C" word). My name is Billy and I'm 39. I get to work from home 95% of the time, except for the rare client meeting, or if I get to do a physical security assessment. I also get to work with 2 adorable kittehs; Smokie and the Bandit (brother/sister). My goals are…

I work from home, and also workout at home. I decided last year that I would force myself to get up earlier to make sure I could knock out all my exercise and get breakfast before I was expected to start working. Plus, working at home has really made it easier to "dial-in" my nutrition.

Definitely at a desk for most of my working. Added

Because being healthy is not really an option for me, all my goals are very vain. But whatever it takes to get me lifting, is all that matters to me. Now there will obviously be some healthy byproducts of working out and eating better, but as I said, "healthy" is just not in the cards for me.

I love it. Mostly because I can cook my favorite restaurant food a little "cleaner". For example, my homemade Chicken Alferdo last night had about 500 calories less than Olive Garden.

I HAD to grow a beard to hide my chins.

To avoid the tediousness of counting every calorie everyday, I decided to pre-count some set breakfasts and lunches and save those in MFP as meals. Now I only need to count my dinner everyday, but only having to do it once a day has made my life easier.

Great start. Keep it up
