I hear y'all, though I don't mind bundling up for a run during winters in NYC. What's really tricky for me is when it snows, because the road gets slippery and I become very cautious to the point that I might not get a run in for two weeks after it snows. During such times, I do more longer indoor calisthenics exercises…

I put on two pounds after losing a couple of pounds. In so doing, I backtracked a little. Nonetheless, I now more than ever want to work towards reaching my goals, weight loss and otherwise. And it is motivating to be in the company of those who want the same. Much success to us all!

I miss seeing nothing but grass and trees for miles and miles, a night sky filled with stars that shine so brightly, and riding my bike down hills that would take me down so fast it would feel like flying. Those were things I had when I lived in upstate New York. But now as I currently live in the city, I don't have those…

I wake up 4:00AM in the morning, drink a cup of coffee with milk and go out for a 2-mile jog around my neighborhood. The 2-mile jog takes me 15 minutes to do--I vary pace along the way to keep it interesting. After jogging, I'm back at home in my bedroom doing "home-gym" exercise which takes another 40 to 50 minutes and…

Regarding painful knees: Yes, please see a medical doctor right away! Give them as much information as possible so you feel better soon. On a personal note, I've experienced soreness on one knee, but when I learned to use my finger tips to massage my front and back leg muscles and gently applied as well a muscle roller to…

I use trail running shoes because I run mostly on road pavement/sidewalks; and each pair lasts me about a year.

Does running in the mornings fit into your schedule? Because it would be easier to run with a lighter body (e.g. having taken only a cup of coffee with a splash of milk or not eating or drinking anything at all) upon waking.

It helps to have nutritious, filling snacks for those hangry afternoons. I'd try something like a snack-pack of a handful of almonds with strawberries and blueberries, which is a modest 300-Calorie snack that leaves you feeling satisfied.

I can relate. Over the course of six to seven months, I put on twenty-one pounds, though the last five or so pounds were probably due to water retention, but that's beside the point. I put on unwanted pounds, and I tried to shed them before only to regain the weight lost and a few more additional pounds. So, I had to…

Good on you for taking big steps to achieving your goals! That's very motivating, so I'd like it very much if you add me.

I love this! Sooooo important. I am actually getting better at cutting it myself when I need to.

I'm a high school teacher too. My personal MFP performance goals are to build a better body to support me through the school year. And I am especially glad to be in the company of like-minded, supportive individuals. Best wishes to us all!
