The last two weeks I've had several work and off-site professional functions that had food. So far I've indulged a little, but logged everything reasonably possible, and have maintained within 2 pounds. So far, so good!

For tomato cages, I cut sections from a roll of concrete reinforcement wire, and bend into a tube about 2 ft in diameter, and 5 ft tall (6 ft tall if I can find that size wire). It holds up well and lasts for years. I'm fortunate to have a few acres to play with for gardening. My budding orchard contains apples,…

Professional exams for certifications are extremely stressful - I still have moments when I relive those days, very glad it was in the past. Kudos for not letting it derail your weight goals!

I will eat a little too much, and will log it all. Planning some treadmill time later on. I'm in maintenance and have learned to roll with the odd days.

That's pretty much how I felt when I got into 36" slim-fit jeans back in July. A year ago, I was in 44" jeans. Now the 36" will slide off me without a belt. 😀

Most days at work (weather permitting), I take breaks mid-morning, lunchtime, and mid-afternoon to walk at least twice around the block. My NSV is I am inspiring coworkers to walk with me now, some days 4 or 5 of them, and several are now actively trying to lose weight.

Held a plank for a full 60 seconds, previous long was 46 seconds. I know it isn't much, but still... Also, did 3x10 deep squats last night, and my knees didn't hurt! WOO-HOO!

Coronary artery disease and a double bypass at age 59. Overweight all my aduit life. I realized that I needed to take a hard look at my lifestyle, and change or wait to die too early. Fifteen months later, and 85 pounds lighter, I feel much better, and every day am glad of the changes I've made.

I've narrowly avoided that a few times lately! Time to go shopping...

Started July 23, 2017. First 6 months lost 63 lbs, at 8 months down 73 lbs. Currently maintaining at 82 lbs down.

Was at the gym yesterday after work with my wife, when a personal trainer there told us that she had used us as good examples to a client of hers, highlighting our hard work and dedication over the past year. Made me feel good...

Managed to hold a plank for a slow count of 46 today, a new personal best. Granted, I've only recently started trying planks, but still...

365 days of logging on MFP.

Being overweight or obese from childhood, then finding out at age 59 that I needed heart surgery. The choice was lose weight and get healthy, or die an early death. No brainer, really. A year later, I've lost 85 lbs and getting more fit by the week.

I eat the whole egg, usually 2 hard-boiled with my morning oatmeal, and sometimes a couple fried for supper. All with the blessing of my cardiologist. I also have my own flock of free-range hens, so don't buy eggs, either whole or cartons of whites. ;)

Very good! Teamwork definitely helps, my wife and I have so far lost 217 lbs combined in a year.

My weight is printed on my Oklahoma DL. It shows about 20 or 25 lbs less than I actually weighed at the time (2017), but 55 lbs more than current weight. But I have to wait almost 3 years to renew unless I pay a reissue fee... :/

If I want a drink, the last thing I consider is how many calories it has. I drink for taste, log whatever I drink, and account for the calorie hit in my diary. Life is too short to drink crap beer or liquor.

Tried on size 36 jeans in slim-fit, and they fit perfectly. Used to wear size 44 relaxed fit

I lost 85 lbs in 9 months, and am 4 months in maintenance within a 5-lb range. Just turned 60. The past week has been challenging, what with 7 visiting family members from out of state, and much food and wine being consumed (but I still only added 2.6 lbs, which I consider a win). It's a mental game - if your head isn't…

What i have found out so far: No clots in lungs or elsewhere. No pneumonia. No evidence of cancer. A bit of fluid around my heart The issue seems to be clearing up. I'll ease back into exercising, and keep on truckin!

The plot thickens. CT scan showed no clot. I'll hopefully know more tomorrow.

A couple this week: 1 - yesterday at dinner I got full before I cleared the plate, and had to adjust my diary to account for what wasn't eaten. In my old life (pre-open-heart surgery), I would have eaten everything anyway, and been miserable afterwards. 2 - I apparently have a pulmonary embolism, and I'm still alive to…

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I slept better last night, and had a good discussion this morning with my wife, who has walked every step of this journey with me after the heart surgery. <3 @L1zardQueen - calorie counting will not stop. I'm finding now that I'm getting full with calories still to eat many days.…

Awesome transformation!

Went to Kohls today to look for shirts. Tried on mediums, and they fit! Never have I fit in a medium shirt as an adult... until now, at age 60.

Saw my Cardiologist yesterday for 6-month checkup. He called me his "model patient", and that he couldn't use any of his usual speeches because I'm doing all the right things after last year's double bypass surgery. This was a week after my annual physical where my primary care doc was just amazed at my changes, and took…

@CarvedTones, your posts about maintenance are helpful to me in my efforts. I hit my goal weight of 205 lbs on May 10 of this year, and have managed to stay within a 3.2 lb range since then, with my low being 201.8, and daily calories around 2400 (mfp calculated my cals at 2650/day, but I'm not active enough in this heat…

I know this is over a year later, but if anybody ever has a problem like this again, many companies have an anonymous tip line that, in many cases, is monitored by Internal Audit, who in turn have a direct line to the Board of Directors Audit Committee. That will get action. I work in internal audit...
