  • SW: 212 LW: 203 CW: 199 (I think I was dehydrated) Okay; let's see what the week brings and how it shows on the scale next week.
  • Got lots of exercise over the weekend and stayed within points, and the scale cooperated this morning. Goal for today is to track and stay within calories.
  • Thank you, 3greyH and all of you, for introducing me to this group! I appreciate this opportunity for daily accountability. I get frustrated when I do everything right and don't lose weight (though, I think we all know that we'd see it on the scale in a few weeks). My body seems to be on a 2- or 3-week lag time, vs what…
  • It is so interesting to read these old posts of mine, and see that nothing -- nothing --- has changed. Obviously, I need to stir things up. :-) I'd hate to fit the definition of insanity. :-)
  • Buffy, I think you're going to make your goal, or at least get very, very close! Good on you! I'm stuck, but that's because I haven't been tracking. At least I haven't gained. Back into the system, again, for the millionth time, etc. etc. To follow up on horse having his hocks done, he was doing amazing -- and then I…
  • Awright, I'm going down half a pound a week..... I'll take it. Had a really great lesson on the fella, inspiring me to have his hocks done, since we were having such a good time. With an older horse, it's hard to know if their hocks hurt, their feet hurt, the saddle doesn't fit, or if it's too hot, or too cold, or if…
  • BB, you are so damn close!! Good work! I'm really proud of your commitment. I'm back to daily tracking, etc. I didn't gain anything over the past month, but I didn't lose anything either. Horse got hocks done, though, because we had such a great lesson that I am inspired, so, hoping the inspiration will extend to eating…
  • I'm still on vacation from restrictive -- ie, appropriate -- eating, so I'm not getting on the scale. :-) I think it's just hard to realize that eating for weight loss and maintenance is always going to mean that food can only be allowed a small role in the day. :-) But, done it before; can do it again. Will be so nice to…
  • My goal is to lose 80 lbs, or at least 50. I'm doing WW and MFP, simultaneously, and though I'm pretty darn responsible to them, I only lose maybe a pound a week, and it's not steady. My goal is just to be healthier and easier for my horse to carry, and better able to enjoy hiking, biking, walking, and fitting in small…
  • BB, how is your retired mare? Any more episodes?
  • I took the week off from WW/MFP. I just got tired of being so careful and getting decent exercise, and only getting a pound a week (if that). I'll start back up, and with daily weighing this week... On the other hand, the fella and I have had a couple really nice rides. It is amazing how he responds, mentally and…
  • And another 1 lb. I have got to figure out a way to lose more than one pound a week, but realistically I'm not sure I can realistically, consistently eat fewer calories without being miserable, and I certainly do not have time to exercise more during the week. And on weekends, I'm wiped. :-) But, the fella is worth finding…
  • Well, I lost a pound. We'll take it. I think I'll start weighing myself daily, vs. weekly, for motivation/daily accountability.
  • Down another 1 lb. There is a thing in WW called "The Turtle Club." At least I'm not alone. Lately, though, I've been skipping either breakfast or lunch (I just get too busy). I actually feel better, with less food overall, and if I skip the points of one meal, the remaining two meals are actually worth eating.
  • Short goal: 25 lbs To go: 25
  • I'll join in on this, BB. I don't know if I can lose 7 lbs a month, since it's taken me 6 months to lose 10 lbs, but, let's aim high. Are you just using MFP for tracking calories, or do you have other apps/techniques? I'm finding that WW and MFP are pretty close, in what they want you to eat each day, so I'm tracking using…
  • BB, Hope you're getting to ride! Back after a week of vacation and though the fella is perfectly fine and in fact very shiny, he is mad at me for disappearing for a week. The poor guy had to go without his nighttime slurpy. Oh, the horror. But, his winter coat is starting to come in -- in August, and it's 90 degrees out…
  • So, back from vacation and up three pounds, but not sure I really believe the scale. Will see what it says next week. Though, the fella was kind of a jerk yesterday (he is inherently too sweet a little man to really be a full jerk, plus Morgans have such a work ethic that they can never really just blow off a ride), so…
  • Look at you go, BB! Good work. I'm with ya; down two lbs this week. Must be all the sweat pouring off me while picking the fella's paddock. I thought I'd pull his stall mats and re-level the floor, but, I decided that the stall floor was okay, once I realized how much work it would be to pull everything.
  • Short goal: 1 lb a week. Long goal: 70 lbs. All of it still left to go. Gotta get that 10% of discipline that's missing from my night time snacking.
  • You and me, BB. We'll just keep on keeping on. I bought a couple stall mats yesterday, and each one weighs 80 lbs. Eighty pounds is about what I should lose (in a perfect world). I cannot believe I am carrying a stall mat around, 24/7! I hope this will be motivational.
  • Goal: 70 lbs/70 weeks To go: All of it?
  • Another year gone.... I have been doing WW religiously for six months: tracking, exercising more (we got a young, healthy dog..... have been walking about 25 brisk miles a week to keep that one entertained) and weight loss? About 6 lbs. This is f'ing ridiculous. I am eating reasonable portions of healthy (ish) clean (ish)…
  • It's been a year since this thread started; how is everyone doing? I have not been at all consistent, and think I weigh exactly what I did a year ago. At least it hasn't gone up. I seem to be in a more "suck it up and count the calories, do the treadmill" mood lately, though, so maybe this time will be "it." A lot of…
  • "Dressage for Dummies" to teach horse to use himself properly and to teach me how to be a good communicator and quiet rider, and to be able to sit through/work through any scary monsters out on the trail. I love trail riding, but new(ish) horse thinks it's pointless. He does not see why we are wasting time out wandering…
  • So glad to find this group. Thank you, again, COTH! I have a few pounds to lose too -- as in, 80 lbs. I look in the mirrors and am horrified! And, it can't be great for the fella, who would find it easier to get into shape --- for the first time in his 18 years, as he just sat in a field other than being used 6 weeks in…
