  • I'm not sure why differing opinions opens the door for aggressive challenges, as I said if this wasn't working for me I would entertain your suggestion. Maybe I can just leave this here for you to read? https://www.ketovangelist.com/the-calorie-hypothesis/
  • This is an interesting angle. Are you suggesting that I am not a 5'3" 41 yr old female who doesn't exercise? I am not at a caloric deficit, I eat 1700 calories, 155g are fat. We are not in the same camp, caloric deficits cause the body to save and stall. We will have to agree to disagree, my friend. If this wasn't working…
  • I have come to believe that high carb is the third and largest political party and if you don't abide by their beliefs you will be attacked. :( Science makes no difference. Welcome
  • I have a boatload of beautiful undergarments available to wear that all fit properly (from 7 years ago). Just 2.5mos ago I had 2 ugly bras. They served their purpose, yes, but they just reminded me of how difficult it was to get dressed. I bought 3 new shirts Saturday, brought them home and they're all too big, like…

  • I don't mind answering, you have great questions! I calculate based on current weight (no deficit). I recalculate at 10lb loss intervals. My goal is 28lbs away. I will likely surpass my goal weight and will need to reassess once I get there. Add more healthy carbs from veggies and up my protein, likely. I don't believe my…
  • Yes. I am down 20 but down way more in inches, my size reflects more like 30lbs knowing my body like I do and the way I fit into old clothes. I've been keto for 2.5 mos but had a 3+ week stall due to an accidental 500 daily calorie deficit. I'm strict, no IIFYM, I read everything. Tdeecalculator.net no deficit.
  • My TDEE is 1700 (20C/60P/155F) and if I under eat or create a deficit I stall. As long as I fast or feast I lose like crazy. Consuming less calories slows your basal metabolism. I follow a page where they did an experiment to see if they could eat unlimited fat and still lose weight. 3500cals and they lost weight.
  • It does change the flavor slightly from a basic Parmesan flavor to a more Olive Garden finish.
  • I have to agree with your friend, it is more expensive... At first. Getting ready with all your flours and substitutions (if she no longer has them) is pricey! Buying meat and fresh veggies is much more expensive than government subsidized grain and boxed/shelf food. When I started saving money is when fat adaptation…
  • I love Bongiovi marinara. For Alfredo, this is my go to recipe: Melt 1-2 tbsp of butter in a small sauce pan Add 3/4 cup HWC until almost simmering but do not allow it to get that hot Add 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (check for starches, I grate my own) Gently whisk until incorporated. Reduce heat In a small bowl whisk…
  • I love pure c8 as does my clean house. Pure energy, like a certain illicit drug I won't mention... I do 3 tbsp which I don't recommend until you're ready, unless you want to be on the toilet for 12 hours.
  • I make my own in the Instant Pot.
  • Friend me! I fast a lot but when I eat I FEAST. Even my BPC is like 400 cals
  • No need for expensive pee, your body produces them like crazy all on its own. Plus, when you consume them, your body won't use the ones it's making. They're a money making ploy.
  • Me! I don't know how to add friends though...
  • Brats usually have dextrose in them and will spike your blood glucose. I miss them but I have found a great sugar free sausage locally!
  • Keto is moderate protein, no more than the average American diet. Pick up a book.
  • It's not about your calories, they're not all created equal. It's what you're eating. Anything that spikes your insulin will tell your body to 1) store fat and 2) not release your stored fat for energy. If you are insulin sensitive it won't matter as much, if you are more insulin resistant it matters MORE THAN ANYTHING.…
  • LCHF has shown to reduce visceral fat tremendously. Include IF or extended fasting once your body is fat adapted for those last stubborn lbs and watch it literally melt away. Mother Nature isn't stupid, we were svelt and strong before grain farming, winter storage foods and sugar. This calories in, calories out is a new…
  • Nice! Are you keto?
  • My goal is 1700 cals per day. I had a nasty 3+ week plateau and discovered I was shorting my calories by about 500 per day. Yikes. I upped my calories and I'm back to losing like crazy. I don't like MFPs calculator, personally. I'm 41, 5'3", 178-179, goal 150 (I'm bony at 145)
  • Low carb is the best option. Over the last 30 years the caloric intake in both the US and Britain have roughly stayed the same but both countries have a serious obesity issue. Why? Calories aren't the issue. That therory is 50 years old and has been debunked 100 times over. Our bodies aren't that simplistic, we don't burn…
  • Hi ketonians! I have been doing keto for about 2.5mos and LOVE IT! I have been pretty strict so I am enjoying the benefits of fat adaptation which was my ultimate goal. Hooray! For all just starting, please stick with it, reaching this point is absolutely worth it. I had a 3+ week stall in my journey when I was restricting…
