This is a solid thorough explanation of all the moving parts involved. Thanks @nossmf

Irish hurricanes, eh? Are you pulling my leg here? I'm glad to hear the storm wasn't too rough on you.

Many people think I am young and handsome. π

October Running Goal: 35 miles 4.6 lbs.weight loss (166.7 lbs -> 162.1 lbs) ββββββββββββββββββββ I'm Chris; I live in San Diego, California. It's starting to cool off a bit, which makes it nicer to run and sleep. I am starting off October feeling pretty good, with only lingering left shoulder issues. I'm seeing a Physicalβ¦

I ran 3.01M at 12'48 I have to figure out my monthly goal.

It was tough to keep active worrying about rebounds. I tried to use some discretion. Seems like it worked. I did a few other types of exercise that are less vigorous.

Hello @CMorning99 my niece and her family came to visit me in San Diego last weekend. Her husband works on the base too. We talked about the T-minus Ten run and he was interested, in a non-runner kind of way. I badgered him into agreeing to run it with me, then, the next day I looked and as it is "10 miles" rather than 10Kβ¦

I missed it by a country mile: 20.71 miles for September. COVID among other things. I'm fully recovered, that is a win. September Running Goal: 45 miles

Here we are @michiepickens @Kizzy_Ann @micukica @rennerkyler for the October Running Challenge. It is the beautiful thing about this thread, like Groundhog's Day, last month's runs are a memory and we all get to start again fresh in the new month's challenge. I hope to see you here for October.

I've been going to a physical therapist for a couple of months for my shoulder. They always say to me that pops in the shoulder and knee are normal and fine. So there is that, but I think @SummerSkier is right, it sounds like scar tissue through the slots in your knee. The advise I've heard is keeping doing it right upβ¦

OMG, due to some laziness, procrastinating, COVID, recovery, etc I have done a "Legs" resistance training in about a month. On friday I went back in and did one, using lighter weights. On Saturday I felt good so went back in and did another upper body session. The onset of muscle soreness was delayed and by Saturday nightβ¦

I ran 3.82M at 11'46 after work tonight. Nice temps.
-
I ran 1.31M at 15'18, just a lazy hot loop around the hood.
-
I ran 4.05M at 14'34 It is the first cool morning (well 12:30 p.m.) in a month.
-
@SummerSkier Good news you are on the mend. Those ankle and knee injuries can get to be real problems. Hopefully you've got through the worst of it.
-
I dusted off my trainers and ran 3.48M at 13'31. I hope to have a gentle and slightly productive week ahead.

Hello @CMorning99 that's great. A lot of my family live there, and some work on the base at Vandenberg. I also went to Uni nearby at Cal Poly SLO. It's a truly beautiful area of rugged mountains, raging seas and mostly year round good weather. World class place to be outside and active.
-
Hey @CMorning99 There is a T-10 miler at Vandenberg and the highs are 70 degrees and fog That's good to know. That is a remote and beautiful place for a run and the internet says it's free. Are you on the west coast too? Are you thinking about the run?
-
British? Not so much. Most posters here do seem to reside in the British Commonwealth.

Hey @Zaxa2021 It was the first time I ran a 10k in under an hour, so I am pretty happy with how it went. That's great! taking time off worked.
-
I walked a loop around my neighborhood. It hilly. Here's my elevation graph. It feels good to move around.

Beautiful nonetheless, straight off the coast where I grew up is an arch on Anacapa island. Last year I vacationed in Baja California, Mexico and in Cabo San Lucas they have a beautiful arch. Thank you for all the well wishes. I'm recovering and it seems to be much more mild than my first go round in 2022. I'm wonderingβ¦
-
@yirara Thanks for the pictures. Where is the arch? @tarun_yadavA Palm Springs is desert glam! There was great company. Exotic delicious homemade Sri Lankan cuisine. The house was perhaps the most opulent place I've ever stayed. Now I am home and enflamed with COVID. It has had a large recurrence here in California and Iβ¦

I am traveling for a few days to Palm Springs, CA for a friend's 80th Birthday party. I will probably do nothing more vigorous then slipping into the swimming pool for a few minutes to cool off. I have been on an eating plan, and I make everything myself, but not the next few days. I am going to try and enjoy that withoutβ¦

I ran a tarunesque 3.33M at 14'08. The heat broke a bit and I waited until close to sunset so it was pretty shady.
-
I ran 1.15M at 15'39. I have cut back so I just wanted to get out and get warmed up.
-
Sure @Zaxa2021 You have a big goal (100) I hope to see you here meeting that big number. Will you start mixing in some outdoor training along with the treadmill as you get closer to your race date?
-
Hi @Kizzy_Ann I'm happy to see you posting here in the Sept Running Challenge. This is a high volume group, so it's great for getting daily support, motivation, and encouragement. Posting your goal and checking in regularly really works. I hope to see you around.
