Use Dumbbells for RDLs, they can be just as effective. The smith can be useful in some exercises, but that fixed bar can really throw off proper form. Stepping up closer COULD work, however it might compromise proper form in the torso. Perhaps someone on here with more knowledge might have a better answer on this one.

I'm no expert here since I've been lifting for a little over a year: Squats seem ok since you're in a smith, hard to tell for me. Get out of the smith machine with those RDLs. This is what I do. I do 10 min warm up walk on the dreadmill with a 10-15% incline at a reasonable walking pace of 4mph. Then I lift, I go 85% 1 rep max. Use 95% of my energy level. Than after if I have time 20 min of Jogging. I treat it as a bonus burn.

That's so cool it's in an area near you. I would never consider boxing because it messes with the brain.. but wouldn't mind taking a mace in the face. :| Love this stuff. It must be the Scandinavian blood in me that wants to fight. :D

Also keep in mind that if you are driving in a car, each subtle bump in the road records steps taken. So watch out. Disable it when not in use. I work machinery and I thought I was walking 10km a work day.. it turned out I wasn't. Lol
