  • This is just fear mongering propaganda that is extrapolating and twisting facts to support one’s ideologies. Don’t forget to not drink water anymore either. Most water sources contain legionella bacteria. Not to mention a risk of coliform bacteria or cryptosporidium...

  • Vietnamese cold noodle salad. I had no idea vermicelli had so many calories and all of the ingredients in the salad seemed so healthy :/

  • I’m getting married (destination wedding :) ) in 3 1/2 weeks and I want to have 2 more lbs lost by then and not fall off the wagon while in Vegas! Next goal is to lose 20 lbs by mid-August when we have our celebration of marriage party in our hometown.
  • @toxikon @kimny72 - thanks for the feedback! I’m 5’2 and 177lbs. I would like to be under 140 and have my target weight loss set to 1 lb/week. I work in a lab so I am active at work about 30% of the day and am sitting/work on a computer the rest of the time. I’m not actively exercising yet but do housework/yard work etc at…
  • @OBXbrit I weigh myself daily but I am only recording my weight on Wednesday’s. I know some people don’t recommend weighing yourself daily because it’s normal for weight to fluctuate but I use it as a motivator. If I weigh more than I did the day before I am much more likely to stay within my calorie limit for the day.
  • @jellis432 @OBXbrit I’ve been using a food scale a lot over the past few weeks and it definitely puts things in to perspective. It makes it a lot easier for me to see where/what I can cut back on to keep within my calorie limits. I don’t weigh everything I eat, although I probably should!
  • Cilantro and basil are my favorite herbs to grow because I love Mexican and Italian food! I think they’re definitely a must if you’re planning on also growing tomatoes so you can make fresh salsas and pasta sauces. Oregano, dill, rosemary and thyme are also good choices that I’ve had success with growing.
  • Woohoo! My scale arrived today so I finally have a starting point and it’s better than I thought it would be but I still have quite a bit of work to do... SW: 177.7 CW: 177.7 GW: 140
  • Great thread @RaeBeeBaby! I have raised beds and started planting cold season veggies this week. Today I planted onions and earlier this week I planted peas, carrots and radishes. Last weekend the weather was so nice I convinced myself that spring was here, but now they’re saying we might get snow this weekend so I hope I…
  • I was wondering that myself. I’ve just been logging my activity as gardening but it also included a lot of yard work like raking and landscaping etc so I figure it’s better to underestimate than overestimate.
  • Welcome jellis! It sounds like you are going to be having a nice container garden this year!
  • I can totally relate to eating the same amount of food as a lumberjack. There’s been many times where I’ve started to feel full and just kept eating anyway. Just by logging my food for the past week I am already getting better about judging portion sizes. Now I just need to limit myself to one portion... Great job on…
  • I’ll have to look in to getting the vegetti thing. I’ve been wanting to make veggie noodles and now would be the perfect time to try it.
  • SW: To be determined. Yep, I haven’t weighed myself at home in so long my scale no longer works. I have a new one coming from Amazon so I should find out in a couple of days. I’m guessing I’m around 190 as I was 185 when I last went to the doctor but it has been a long winter... :# CW: to be determined GW: Under 140 so I’m…
  • Today I began preparing the beds for planting and I hope to get cold season veggies in the ground yet this week. I’m starting with carrots, lettuces, radishes, beets, onions and peas an will add to it and stagger plant every 1-2 weeks. I’m jealous that I don’t live somewhere I could garden year round! I created a Green…
  • I’m in my mid 30’s and have about 50 lbs to lose. I started vegetable gardening last year and absolutely loved doing it. It’s very cathartic tending to a garden and fresh garden veggies are so much better than what you buy from a grocery store. I’m looking forward to the beginning of gardening season and trying new recipes…
  • Feel free to add me too! I just started this week and have 50 lbs to lose.
  • I’m 34 and just starting out. I have 50 lbs lose and I am a foodie so I am working on breaking my habit of overeating by monitoring my portions. I have an open diary and anyone is free to add me.
  • Thanks for the replies! I started using it this morning, and it hasn’t been too bad, but are there any tips or tricks when cooking recipes? It seems like a lot to measure and record every ingredient and then also weighing out and calculating calories on how many servings of the final dish you are having.
  • I’m just starting today! I’ve been thinking about making a lifestyle change for awhile and am tired of being tired and weighed down all of the time. I woke up last night with terrible indigestion from over eating yesterday and it kept me awake for most of the night. I have plenty of weight to lose but mostly I just want to…
