If your body thinks there’s a famine, it holds on to what it can. Have a snack.

Seriously enjoying this thread! You are very amusing, thanks for the fun read.

I’m right there with you! Working from home is great except for the fact that you’re not moving around as much. I also have some physical issues that I am working on. Slows me down a lot. I am just starting again today I need to lose at least 40 pounds. My initial goal is 20 by February 1 when I go on a Disney trip. At…

Good morning everyone! Sorry I was not able to post yesterday, but I am in a crochet race against a baby being born! I am not an expert crochet-er and have been working on this project for a while and am almost done. My daughter-in-law told us on Easter that she thinks this baby may come early, there are signs. So I am…

Welcome Lizhelen! We have a nice group here. I'm sure we're really going to be able to encourage each other. I started my 'Happy Easter breakfast' by eating Badly! A huge breakfast that include a Hot Cross Bun (pastry). However, it's pretty nice here today so after 'virtual' church I'm going out for a non-virtual walk 😊.

Kiay, have you gotten an instant pot yet? I understand you can make yogurt in an instant pot although I have not done it yet. It looks like we're getting a good group together here! We all seem to have about the same goal ranges in mind, and similar starting points. I forgot to get on the scale this morning. Friday or…

I'm generally managing to stay between 1200-1300 calories most days. If I could exercise more I might be in pretty good shape. However, I have an intense desk job, a hubby who likes 'treats', and trouble with willpower! I'm trying to stretch between meal snacking by chewing a piece of gum. I am happy to hear from others on…

Got my walk in this afternoon and hope to do some arm exercises tonight. How did you all do today?

In addition to the good advice above: Don't watch the news, Don't look at your retirement fund, and Don't forget to reach out to friends and family and chat. Try to not worry too much, this to shall pass..

Soak almonds in salty water overnight, then rinse them and drain. Lay them out on a paper towel to dry for about 24 hours. Put them in a bowl and drizzle about 1tablespoon of olive or coconut oil over them and mix well. Put the on the baking sheet (no paper towel this time), and bake about 20 min at 400 degrees. Watch them…

Please add me, I'm about 170, and trying for 150. I'm age 61, so not sure more than 20lbs more is possible I've lost about 18 already as I was nearly 190 last June. I have stalled out over the last few weeks and hit the dreaded plateau! I really could use a friend or two on the journey. Tomorrow I am committed to a long…

Please add me, I'm also about 170, and trying for 150. I'm age 61, so not sure more than 20lbs more is possible I've lost about 18 already as I was nearly 190 last June. It seems like you're being really hard on yourself. I'm not sure what '62kg' equates to in pounds? I've spent the last 9 months losing 18-19lbs. If I'd gone for that run today I would NOT be hating on myself, why are you doing that? Forget the zen books, focus on keeping good food around you to snack on. Hummus has been a…

Awesome job! I've lost about 18 in 9 months. Slow but steady 😊

Pickling uses heat, bad for the good cultures, kills them off. No heat in fermentation, so the cultures get to live.

So nice to know that you don't have to lose your sense of humor along the way! So many of these before and after story pics make the "afters" look so serious! Great story!

I'm considering the keto lifestyle. Trespense, can you give some background on how it has worked for you?

I had the same experience this week. My winter/spring sounds just like yours, where I went from much exercise to NONE. So Monday I got on the Expresso bike for the first time in months. Typically I'd ride 8-10 miles. I FORCED myself to ride 6, and then couldn't do anything else at all. No strength exercises, which I d…

I have a HUGE decluttering coming up. We are having the upstairs floors refinished, ripping up carpet, sanding and refinishing. 3 bedrooms and hallway, one bedroom is an art studio, one my office and the 3rd, guess what!? It's a bedroom! But I have closets to clear out, furniture to move, etc. I'll probably start this…

Sent you a friend request and message, but now am not seeing it. Did you get it? I'm new to the social media piece of MFP and am not sure how it works.

[\quote](I want to hit 185 by July 8th - I'm traveling on a mission trip. Then, by end of summer, I would love to be 175.[/quote] Did you do it? Get to 185?

Fantastic!

CK, excellent work. My son is visiting for the week, hope I can be good!

So I weighed in today for the first time in about a month, I'm starting at 179.6. I don't want to call it 180 although it's pretty close. My goal is 150. I don't expect to hit that by fall but I would like to lose about 15 pounds by the end of September. I am definitely a yo-yo dieter, but I'm planning a trip to Europe in…

I also need to lose 30lbs. I started this in mid-March and lost 6-7 lbs in 3-4 weeks. Then things at work got a bit crazy and I just lost track of everything. Tomorrow morning I'm going to weigh in, and am worried that I've gained back everything I lost. Can I join you moto team?
-
Between 3/14 and 4/13 I lost 6 lbs, and in my 1-week vacay just gained 4 back. BUT, I know now that I can lose it, and I'm sure you can too. You look young and beautiful already! Don't be too hard on yourself!

This may be a crazy answer, but if I'm pretty close to my next meal I try to skip snacking and just pop in a piece of sugar free gum. Sometimes this is all I need to get me through.

I'm turning 60 in August, and want to look 50. Ha ha, really just want to be healthier at that time.
