I weigh every morning at the same time, same clothing and take an average over the week.
-
All I do is I try and do 10,000 steps a day but some says I dont get to do the full 10,000
-
Yes I weigh and track absolutely everything
-
Thank you that was extremely helpful. Can I just ask how do I actually know what my maintenance calories are? How do I know if I have been in a surplus for the day/week. Sorry for all the questions. Just trying to wrap my head around it all.
-
Yes it seems I'm struggling over the last few days I’ve ate back most or all of my exercise calories.
-
I entered 1lb per week as I have quite a few pounds to loose. Im reading some conflicting information, some say to eat exercise calories back, some say eat 50% some say eat none.
-
It seems quite low 1,210 calories.
-
Perfect thank you. Can I ask another question, or do I have to start another post? Do I eat my exercise calories back? MFP has put me at 1,210 calories a day.
-
Thank you. Yes I have my Garmin synced to MFP and it obviously counts my steps all day, but if I intentionally tell my Garmin im going for a walk when I do my exercise walk it will give me additional calories in MFP. But should I be logging my walks on my Garmin seen as it is counting my steps anyway? If that makes sense.…

And where did you get over 1600 from? Please tell me.
-
No it was a TDEE calculator. In am a 34 year old female at 150lbs.
-
It’s not vanity weight, my BMI is over and it’s for health reasons
-
I’m 5’4 and I’ve had a look at a few and they are not much higher than that. My activity level is sedentary because I don’t do much at the moment I have injured my knee ligaments
-
No. I don’t take anything. I’m having CBT. I’ve suffered for 7 years they only medication that works is diazepam but they are addictive so can’t have them.
-
I haven’t had heart problems they did tests on me because I kept having a racing heart due to my anxiety.
-
Wow thanks for the replies. I’ve seen a doctor enough times and had scans on my heart and wore 24 hour monitors. I think I’m letting my anxiety get the better of me. I didn’t realise a lower resting heart rate is more likely as you become more fitter.
-
Could it be possible I’ve got sick because I’ve just started a new exercise routine? I went to the gym four days in a row and then they say after I felt poorly.
-
I’ve struggled with severe health anxiety for 7 years. I’ve just started with exercise and tracking my calories. What I’m worried about though is when I go to the gym and I work out and you have sore muscles etc because I’m new at all this, because of my anxiety I think it’s something medical all the time even tho I’ve had…

I'm sorry I'm new at this I'm not sure I understand. The Fitbit sends my steps across to MFP a which gives me extra calories for exercise.
-
Yes my Fitbit logs everything and sends it across to MFP. I eat from a goal from MFP.
-
Minus calories from BMR? Even with exercise, surely that's not right it will make you poorly.
-
Oh thanks I never thought of that
-
How do u find the Apple Watch?
-
Sorry I set it at 1lb a week weight loss cos I weigh 150 pounds
-
Sorry that was a MISTAKE I don't weigh 110 pounds (I wish) I weigh 150 pounds so I'm overweight for my height.
-
No I sync constantly Hi I'm new to all this. I'm a 5"4 female who weighs 110 pounds. I work as a desk job. I've just joined the gym. I have my Fitbit linked with MFP, and to lose 1lb a week it's stating I need to eat 1,210 calories. Now my concern is my gym instructor did my BMR which is 1367. I did an online calculator…
-
Thanks for your comment. But the Fibit only gives an account of the calories burned for the day at midnight so sometimes I don't know how many calories to eat during the day because I am unsure until later in the day what calories I have burned. Some days I can't get to the gym due to work etc.
-
Also it really confuses me because it says if I eat enough calories to maintain my week my TDEE then I will maintain my weight. But if I subtract a calorie deficit from my TDEE I would be eating about 1,300 calories a day which is lower than my BMR???
-
Yes mine is the Alta HR with the heart monitor. I used to have an Apple Watch, kinda wishing I still had it I’ve read they are more accurate
-
Thank you that’s really helpful. How am I meant to track calories burned from my Fitbit to what I’m eating if my Fitbit calories burned is so inaccurate
