I guess I am only slightly overweight. I'm 5'2 and 185 lbs. 2 years ago I was 125. I agree that I need to work on my core strength. Any good exercises for focusing on that? I bought a gym membership (Gold's gym) so I have access to most equipment.

Mostly just an intimidation factor. And before I got an armband for my phone there was nothing to listen to. I have no idea what I'm doing with weights and I don't have a program.

How is Tai chi? I've wanted to try it but they only offer a fusion class at my gym.

One thing that helped me was reinforcing the idea that no one is looking at you. They are focused on their own workouts or driving or whatever. I have found that the pitter patter of running is very comforting and helps me to relax. The benefits outweigh the (sometimes extreme) amount of work we have to do to get out the…
