@HoneyBadger302 why not just ask the friend who posted it? Also, are you sure this friend isn't working on their weight or lifestyle in some way? Or is this someone you're with 24/7 and know these things for sure? Just curious, not being confrontational.

Does anyone else have a problem with a doctor addressing weight and nothing else? I have been to several different doctors who, after explaining why I was there, would start out with "ok, but what are you doing to lose weight?" Like, what does that have to do with (insert non-weight related issue here)? I could understand…

@Kmb4391 Tell this story the other way around, ya know "there's this guy... yadda yadda. Also I work out at home" and all these people who are mad at a damn joke would be "OMG YES!!! MEN ARE SO AWFUL!!!" And before you ask- Gen X female.

I have about 115 to lose. Feel free to add me! I can't add anyone since this latest update for some reason :/

I'm 5'7 288 lbs and wear size 18 jeans. Im in an 18 because I lose weight in my butt, hips and below my navel first :s Also some women wear jeans at hip height, others (like me) wear them at navel height.

I always over-log (is that a word?) my food. If I eat fast food or am unable to weigh or cook the food myself, I choose the highest calorie option.
-
I enable negative calories because otherwise I don't lose weight/too tired to keep going. I also only eat back 50% or less of my burned calories.

I believe as long as a parent is monitoring the child using the app, it's a good thing. Maybe they should require the parent to download the app and sign in so they can actively monitor what's going on.

One from the late 80s/early 90s was "take your goal weight and multiply it by 10 to get your calories needed to get to that weight " or the variation "whatever your weight is now, multiply it by 10 to figure out how many calories you eat a day". I don't know why, but that one has stuck with me all these years.

Wow. I don't even know what to say to that.

I weigh every morning after my bathroom routine and log it in Libra for Android. It helps me see true weight loss as opposed to fluid fluctuations. I only weigh in on MFP on Sundays, though.

You might want to Google "flu deaths per year worldwide ". I know we don't trust the WHO a whole lot right now, but they estimate 250,000 to half a million flu deaths per year. CDC estimates 24,000 to 65,000 per year in the US alone.

People like your mom are the only reason I wear a mask. I would not be able to live with myself if I found out (or thought) that I came into contact with an at-risk person and made them sick or killed them. I personally don't think the masks do anything at all, but I would rather wear one just in case.

If you mean replacing sodas with green tea while also reducing food intake, then yes. If you mean is it a magic bullet that gives you permission to eat like a pig and still lose weight, then no. I went through this with a friend believing I was losing weight solely because I drink a lot of coffee.

I know this isn't facebook but we need a laugh react 😂

I totally agree. There have been weeks of no movement on the scale, but my measurements were getting smaller. I measure chest, waist and hips and log it in an app that can show me charts. I also have a weight tracking app- Libra for Android, and I believe the apple version is called Happy Scale. I log there several times a…

@Yarrum84 you sound just like me. I was diagnosed with BED/bulimia years ago. I can no longer afford therapy, but little things have helped me a lot in the last 8 months or so. I always make sure that I have the MFP widget on the home screen of my phone with remaining calories, so I can take a quick look and decide whether…

Try keeping track of your body measurements. I track the big 3- chest waist and hips. I rely on that more than the scale to see if I'm on track.

I agree. I have been slowly cutting back on the amount of sugar I put in (down to about a tablespoon) and I only use about an ounce of skim milk (130 calories per 8 oz) or unsweetened almond milk (70 calories per 8 oz) so I don't see how that is as bad as soda.

Request sent!

Yes, plenty of caffeinated beverages and coffee. 3-4 sodas a day, monster java, starbucks in a can, red bull, you name it and an occasional (maybe 2-3 per week) homemade coffee.

Congratulations!

@kimny72 thank you! We all know how people can be "set in their ways" and resistant to change, but I worry about my friend. I think there may be underlying issues she is going through. Sometimes she is on the right track ( Planet Fitness just opened in our city and she joined before they even opened and she goes on average…

* not only Madonna
-
@janejellyroll I agree. I like how some people seem to forget that nowadays children have the whole world (internet) in their pockets. Her whole *kitten* was hanging out? Yeah.... and? Lizzo isn't the first-born only Madonna, but is everyone forgetting Miley Cyrus post Hannah Montana? - and certainly won't be the last. I…

I just feel like- you want to have a conversation about Lizzo's body? Fine. Get an interview with Lizzo. Want to have a conversation about health/weight/etc in general? Sure. Call Jillian Michaels. I think the question was meant to tempt JM to say something negative about Lizzo. Why? Maybe because people love drama.

Even though this is wildly off-topic, I completely agree. The town I live in (semi-rural NC) has many empty buildings that could be put to better use. Our own government is part of the problem- there have been 4 social security office buildings that have been built in our town since the 1980s, and only 2 are being used by…

Although they could have made it a little more realistic by her saying "oh my gosh- just like I wanted!" Whatever- somebody somewhere would have been like "what a pig! He got her what she asked for instead of putting some thought into the gift! He is so lazy!" It's a lose/lose situation any which way you put it.

No, I'm not a dude, but my husband, friends and family often tell me I think like a dude lol. Ok- here's my opinion of the ad when I first saw it. I assumed (yeah yeah i know) that she ASKED for the Peleton for Christmas. Why? Because that's the kind of things i ask for. Even though she's thin, maybe she can't walk a…
