I guess so you’ll know it’s got junk food and isn’t too healthy? After all, what kids gonna want 11grams (!!!!) of TikTok healthy and necessary but highly processed protein if there’s not some junk food to offset all that goodness?

Being consumed by food, instead of the proper way round. Deep, that.

Props to them for being able to play! Or should that be,”play this way?”?

Listings are crowdsourced, aka, garbage in, garbage out If you’re not happy, create your own food entry. I do it all the time. Sometimes you’re batting 1,000 finding accurate entries, sometimes you either grit your teeth and make new entries, or deal with a gram or two here, ten calories there. Same on any calorie counting…

My dad used to alter songs …. “Pardon me boys, is that the cat that chewed your new shoes” was a particular favorite of the grandkids. I dare you to erase that from your brain now. But, to his credit, he didn’t slow them down and turn them into dirges.

My crabby 60’s and up comment for the day lol

Bump! Is it just me……or is this new youthful trend of taking old songs and doing them super slow, dreamy, indie style supremely irritating? Several of our yoga instructors have moody versions of “Ring of Fire” and “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” on repeat. I want to claw my ears out. There’s others that play occasionally,…

And, as for “grandma depression” look at it this way. You have two cups sitting on the counter. You can choose to continue pouring your energy into the depression cup, or choose to start a fresh cup and direct your energy to filling that one. Starting today, neither is half empty or half full. They just are.

That was me, Ann. I’m nothing special. If I can do this, you can do it. Just weigh and log honestly and stick to your (reasonable, not “fast fix”) calorie goal. Add in some walking, and find something else you love doing. It gets easier and fun-ner as your weight diminishes. It takes patience and diligence, but you, too,…

The doughnut shop had all my favorites this morning: Mexican hot chocolate, Sweet Joe, raspberry pepper. But a friend is bringing baklava for the Super Bowl. I left with just the usual apple fritter. It was haaaaaaard to do. 🥹

Now what? Honey, you increase to maintenance but continue on like you still have five pounds to lose. Logging, weighing, recording, watching. It’s when you slack off and relax that it comes back on.

Sorry, totally inappropriate thread hijack.

They’re all listening, Pav. I can’t tell you how many times in the past week or so I’ve gotten ads for things discussed casually at home or with a friend. Little granddaughter facetimed, entranced by a rainbow, and we were simply admiring with her about how beautiful it was and how much we loved rainbows. Now I’m getting…

But you got to try them. What is life without new experiences, and, potentially, the next wonderful chocolate just beyond the horizon? 😇 Good grief, now I’m craving chocolate.

Thanks, Ann That’s a good starting point. I’m fixing to do some travel and whatever I add in the next few days needs to be something existing, already open, in the pantry, or portable and easy to do while on the road. I’ll delve more into it when we get back. I’m going to take @mtaratoot ’s suggestion and finish up a large…

PS I don’t log weight room workouts on Apple Watch because they are so stop and go. I do, however, record my training sessions as “functional strength” workouts. Most the others are pretty straightforward. I use yoga, walking, running, swimming, cardio fitness etc. It still utterly blows my mind that not only can it track…

I’ve found my Apple Watch to be fairly accurate. Sometimes, I even count steps, too, just to see if it agrees with me, and it’s generally pretty close. The only time I’ve found it to go buck wild is if I’m doing something with a very specific, very repeated hand motion, like crochet. Once in a while it will give me…

That over five years in to weight loss, consistent exercise, and careful maintenance, I still have enough extra belly skin to honestly strap on an extra pair of D-cup bras and handily fill the suckers out. Does it never go away? 🥹 Seriously, I’m grateful to still be in maintenance, should really ought to have bought stock…

@Lietchi Red supposedly has raspberry notes, gold has caramel notes. One of my best travel memories is being at the market in Brugge the week before Easter and sampling all the Easter candies. I especially liked the little sugar “fried eggs”. So different than the USA. Made us feel bland and Hershey’s boring. I’m hoping to…

I think @Overheadfan is getting extensive help and advice from her care team?

Thanks @mtaratoot I was using Nuun tablets daily, but since I got on my sugar-free “free” kick, I’ve stopped using them and am trying to drink more water. I usually get so engrossed in what I’m doing, though, I forget. I’ve been adding extra truffle salt to my popcorn and licking my fingers, lol. Am doing MUCH better with…

I heard a radio interview with a local chocolatier talking about the five different kinds of chocolate: dark, milk, white, red and gold. He says no one does red or gold in the US but it’s common in Europe. You can bet what’s going on my To-Do list for when we go.

Thanks, but have weaned off sugar free, and am feeling better and more energized every day. We’ve given away all our sugar free jellos, puddings, syrups etc. I’ve been making my own “cream cheese” after the local groceries stopped carrying the Green Mountain Yogurt Cream Cheese during the pandemic. It’s just Greek yogurt,…

Ye gods. And a hot studio, too. A “dry” fast? SMH. That’s so some of these folks will think they’ve “lost weight” and chalk it up to hot yoga? My studio strongly encourages hydration and we take a few breaths break between sets to grab a sip.

Well thank heavens my cardiologist is watching out for my hanging belly. Good job, that.
-
I had to Google to see what this was. Cool! I can’t wait to try this. We love socca, which is made almost the same way but with garbanzo flour. I’m sure we’ll like this, too. Nothing like a great rabbit hole. :)

And PS everyone who knows me here knows what a sweet tooth I have. There’s soooooo many ways to incorporate yummy, healthy sweets into your daily plan. Congratulations on your success so for. Don’t get so buried in the last few that you forget to thank yourself for the ones that are now gone.

I’d just say, you’re very close to goal. Sit back and reevaluate if that goal is appropriate for you. I started 225 or so. I never in my wildest imagination thought I’d reach 150. Where to go next? Wedding day weight of 125 seemed a good goal. I got all the way down at 127 before my trainer, who’d been watching in horror,…

And help us with height, current weight, age?
