I tend to follow a kind of PPL when the gym is open, 4 different sessions, 6 days a week: 1. Chest & Triceps 2. Back & Biceps 3. Shoulders 4. Legs I guess a TRUE PPL wouldn't have shoulders on a seperate day but there are pushing and pulling shoulder movements so it makes sense to me. The gym is closed is it's a whole lot…

You can definitely log them into MFP, try the barcode scanner under "add foods". It might take some time, and some failed attempts but seeing them logged will keep you well aware of it because it's definitely easy to just mindlessly munch away. I like to tell people that by no means does your diary have to be perfect every…

My suggestion to you all is to take it slowly and gently. It can be tempting to instantly go super low in calories, or cut out carbs almost completely because that's what diets from past decades always seem to suggest. Find nice balance of protein, carbs, and fat, which will help keep you feeling full and will be more…

You tell em!

It's got to start with you bro. The community is great and will support you but it's up to you to be accountable. Perhaps trying to post BEFORE you binge(when you feel you are at risk) will give people people a chance to talk you down. Posting afterwards doesn't really allow anyone to help. Binge eating is a serious issue…

Your first initial drop will likely be water but it's still nice too see. You don't need to do anything fancy. If you're in a deficit you will lose. If you aren't losing, you aren't in a deficit.

Yeah it seems like there's always a rockslide these days. I haven't been down in years

^ I respectfully disagree with that course of action. Fat around the midsection tends to be the last to go and the first to return. You can't decide where you gain. If you eat in a surplus with the intention of bulking, you will gain fat and you have to accept that. Keep your gains reasonable. A pound a week, 4-5lbs a…

I've been where you are. My advice is to go slow with your calorie increase. It can be tempting to eat too much too quickly, and you have to remember that your body has adapted to lower calories after cutting for so long. I would weight myself daily and take the average weekly, aiming to gain no more than 1lb a week, with…

Welcome back man

You will gain weight if you maintain caloric surplus, no matter what you eat.

Man, I see a lot of similarities between your story and mine. I'm also part of an Italian family, and you're right, food is a big part of the culture. I was overweight from most of my life but it's hard to talk about that as a guy. You don't really get the same support. Eventually I decided I had to go my own way and do…

It does sound like you're pretty active so Justin is right, it's going to come down to getting those calories.

WTG man 👊 What's your experience with experience and diet so far? There are a lot of really experienced guys here who can give great advice but some more detaila could help. Age? Current diet & fitness routine? Specific goals?

I would estimate your bf at 18-20%

Jealousy?

You can't target specific areas unfortunately. For a lot of men, fat around the midsection tends to be the last to go.

Feel free to add, community helps in times like these 🙏

Good time to get a solid routine going!

The others have you covered, I just wanted to add that you should try not to worry about what your mother says. Many parents/friends/etc react the same way because they don't really understand what we're doing.
