Daily, first thing in the morning (almost). But any time of day is good as long as you're consistent.

You are trying to gain weight, right? Do you know your Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR)? It would be helpful to know this to correctly track your calories. https://www.gigacalculator.com/calculators/rmr-calculator.php. Welcome, and good luck!

Hey SantaMrs, add me as a friend if you like. I'm 62, and also a lifelong dieter. I've lost 54 lbs and now I'm working to maintain. It sure isn't easy, and support is vital.

Yeah, like eating "just one" donut or piece of chocolate when they know I'm trying to maintain my weight loss.

Hey Shap! It doesn't seem to be super active, does it? ;) Happy upcoming birthday! Losing sure is tough, particularly at our age. I've lost 50, looking to take off the last 5.

That's nice to know; I wasn't aware of that. I go over the allotted grams of sugar every day as well and I eat very little added sugar. I wasn't super worried about it, but I did wonder how it was calculated. Thanks, Rhedd!

Hi Dom and welcome! Glad you're here. I love your photo! :)

There's a weight loss app at https://www.pbrc.edu/research-and-faculty/calculators/sswcp/, called the Single Subject Excel® Based Weight Change predictor. It helps you calculate your projected weight loss based on calorie intake and age, weight, height etc. It's not 100% accurate but it's close enough to be helpful.

Confusing, huh? I agree; no diet is going to work for every person. I'm in a medical weight management program, and they advocate eating smaller meals every three hours or so, with a good balance of the three macros at each feeding. This works for me, as it prevents me from getting too hungry in between meals. But it…

Hi Angie! Welcome, glad you found your way here!

Thanks, Don! I hadn't heard of this vegan product yet; I'll have to give it a try. Some people on the web are saying Just Egg is the next "Impossible Burger." I guess we'll see, huh? https://www.washingtonian.com/2018/06/28/is-vegan-just-egg-the-next-impossible-burger/

Yes, Ann is right. I pay attention to macros to make sure carbs, fats, and protein are in line, but I'm much more focused on calories. Bottom line, keeping calories under control keeps the weight off.

Hi Hwalt and welcome. Yes, we are all very good at putting ourselves last, aren't we? It's a common problem. :)

Hi Dessa! That was my grandmother's name (short for Hadassah). I'm glad you've found your way here. This is a great group for friendship and support. :)

I'm allergic to shellfish and other foods, too, and it's a pain. Here are a few sites for recipe ideas: https://www.healwithfood.org/allergies/recipes/ https://www.eatingwithfoodallergies.com/allergyfreerecipes.html https://www.mindfood.com/article/food-allergies-cookbook-meal-ideas/…

I know how frustrating this can be, Tlf, but SugarAddict and Ricomincia may be right. Your metabolism may have changed from restricting your diet too much. You may want to bump up your cals a bit, at least temporarily, and add some healthy fat into your diet. When I was in weight loss mode, I stalled when I was close to…

Good for you! Congrats; keep up the great work!

I sure would hate to be quoted as badly as Nick Fuller was (unless the guy really says things like sugars are "the very foods that are preventative for your health.") But I agree, the article was poorly written and should have included the things that people should try instead.

Hi Dremes. I know what you mean; it's hard to argue with blood tests and deny the reality revealed in the results. I got back on track last year and dropped 50 pounds -- I sure liked the change in my test results last time. Good luck! Keeping coming back; this is a great group for support.

Hi Seneca, and welcome. I hope you achieve your weight loss goals.

Hi Leelee, hugs to you. I think most of us can relate to how depression affects our motivation and weight loss goals. Hang in there! :)

Hi Glorianna and welcome!

Hi Donna Marie! I just joined this group, too. I find the Fitness Pal app really helpful, particularly for watching my calories and macros. I have about 7 pounds to lose; I've lost 51. So it can be done! Isn't easy, though. :)
