Macros or calories?

Good morning! I’m wondering if I will still lose weight if I stay under my calories but I go over on a macro? Please advice. Thank you!

You will.
Calories determine weight loss, especially in the short run.
Macros are for nutrition, health, energy level, satiation, body composition (muscle especially).
Over the long term, very bad nutrition (including very far from adequate macros) might hurt energy level, so reduce your activity, thus burn slightly fewer calories. That could affect weight loss.
Or, macros that aren't right for you can affect satiation and satisfaction with your eating, making it hard to stick with your calorie goal. That could affect weight loss.
But mostly, weight loss is about calories.
For nutrition and health, close on macros is fine: You don't need to be exact.7 -

I don't pay that much attention to my macros, just my calories.
Good luck!2 -
Yes, Ann is right. I pay attention to macros to make sure carbs, fats, and protein are in line, but I'm much more focused on calories. Bottom line, keeping calories under control keeps the weight off.3

As others have said, calories. I use the macros as a general guide. Aside from my daily calorie number, the other number I will pay attention to is how many grams of fiber I'm eating, for bathroom purposes.0
