I've been following NRoL4W, but I'm currently lifting while cutting. Getting married in July! Feel free to add me though

No, I've only done deadlifts and deadlifts from boxes. None of the Romanian variations. Thank you for the suggestion!

So I started Stage 3 today. Dumbbell snatches - Weren't as bad as I was expecting, though I did hit myself in the head with the dumbbell once ROFL. Felt GREAT (jk). For the 1 Leg Romanian Deadlift, my arches HURT. I have high arches and do wear supports. I'm wondering if I need to wear harder shoes for those. Or is there…

Thanks Dawn! I don't have any dumbbells at my house, so I was practicing without them. I think I did alright. Maybe I'll find a secluded corner of the gym tomorrow, haha. Nice job on the DL's!

Hey everyone! Been MIA with life, but still lifting! I finished Stage 2 last week. I had started, got halfway through, then pulled something in my quad. I ended up taking a week off to make sure it fully healed, then re-started stage 2, and dropping the weight on any leg exercises. Since I started, I've only lost 3.8 lbs…

Yes, after troubleshooting failed, they offered to replace it free of charge. New one should be here today!

Fitbit measures your TDEE, so all the calories you burn just being alive plus your movement.

Fitbit said to restart the device. I did, but it's still registering heart rate levels in the 130s and 140s in my sleep or during activities where my heart rate wouldn't be over 90, 100 tops. I'm going to call during my lunch.

I highly recommend seeing if there is an Aldi's in your area. I can easily spend less than $30 on just myself in one week. I do shop sales, compare prices, and clip coupons as well. However, I have found that Aldi's prices still beat BOGO free sales at another grocery chain.

I just finished Stage 1!! Start (1-23-17) - Finish (3-4-17) Workout A Squats: BW to 40lbs plus bar (Smith Machine) Push Ups: 60 degrees to regular! Seated Rows: 20 lbs to 75lbs Step-Ups: Short Step with 10lb dumbbells to Higher Step with 20lb barbell Prone Jackknives: Couldn't complete 8 to 15 Workout B Deadlift: 20lb…

I have one more week of Stage 1 left! Thank goodness, it's getting boring!! Haha! Anyway, I wanted to ask, did anyone go straight into Stage 2? I know the book says to take a week off, but my wedding is in early July, so I don't have time to waste. I also know taking a week off will get me out of my routine and it'll be…

Sorry, just now seeing this. The front squats in phase 2 are what really scare me, too! I tried some with a personal trainer in a free session. Those will be fun -_- haha! I'm probably going to have to change the box deadlifts in phase 2 and just keep regular deadlifts, as I'm still trying to get correct form on those. I…

Would you suggest Strong over New Rules for a relative beginner? I'm halfway through stage 1 and still cannot deadlift right. I'm so frustrated with them. I even used my complimentary PT session at my new gym to learn it and the trainer seemed irritated at the end that I still couldn't do it. Looking ahead I'm nervous…

The program is laid out in a book by Lou Schuler. I got my copy on half.com, but you can get it a lot of places. So far, I am! I looked ahead to stage 2 and am really nervous about front squats to push presses, but I'm sure it'll be all good!
-
I didn't realize this group was still active! I'm doing my 4th workout B, stage 1, tomorrow! Excited to be halfway done. Just switched gyms from Planet Fitness to an LA Fitness. Excited to have real barbells!
-
I will have to check out the daily thread! Anyone on the program feel free to add me

I ordered the book off half.com but you can order it on Amazon or other online book stores. Half.com was just cheaper

I try to aim for that split. I'm following New Rules for Women, and that's what the book recommended. I've only been on the program 2 weeks though, so I can't say much for results yet :)

Aldi. I also check out sales ads for Publix and shop BOGO (but there are times it is STILL cheaper at Aldi to two than it is to get a BOGO). I stock up when there is a good sale on things that can be frozen or have a long shelf life.

Thank you! Should I eat a bit more on the days I lift? What about my Fitbit adjustment?
-
Thank you so much for taking the time to help me out! When I was at 1500, I was losing about a pound a week. I've been using MFP for 2 years, but I'm one of those chronic yoyoers, losing and gaining (highest weight was 162, lowest was 139). I've been back at it since the new year and have lost 5 pounds (some extra stress…

My Fitbit!! It has given me a much more accurate account of my activity level. Close second is my food scale.

These are some great ideas, thank you!

Combat Crunch is my favorite. It has 5g per bar. My second favorite is Quest, now that they have re-engineered their formula.

I'm 143.4 lbs, 5'6", and 27. My goal is 130. I'm currently set to 0.5 lb/week loss and lightly active. It gives me a base of 1750. I have a Fitbit and it usually adds another 300-600 calories depending on my steps for the day. I typically eat between 1500-1700 calories a day. I have been having success with this. 1200 is…

I checked out your diary, and I eat more protein than that on a typical day and I'm losing. Weight loss can stall for many reasons. Time of the month, sodium levels and water weight, etc. Have you lost more than 10 lbs? If so, have you had MFP recalculate your nutritional goals? The less you weigh, the less you need. How…

Ooh, that's a good idea!

Thanks! I tried some alcohol on a cotton ball and got some off. I'll try some dish soap as well. I had the Zip but had wanted a wrist one for a little while. When I saw the pink one advertised in the target ad, I immediately went and got it. Pink is my favorite color. It's just the band gets dirty very easily. I think I'm…

You can get PB2 on Amazon.

I don't work out like a "man" but I do average between 100 g and 130 g of protein every day. Protein (and fats) help with satiety (feeling full). I've tried GNC's Lean Shake 25 line and Premier Protein. The Lean Shake is designed to be a meal replacement and has a lot of micronutrients in it as well. I absolutely hated the…
