Thanks. I found that both calorie king & MFP database match roughly around 130 calories for 100g. So I’ll go with that
-
Thanks everyone
-
Ok thanks. I sometimes check with calorie king or a google search, or try work it out by the packaging. How about you?
-
Ok thanks.
-
Yeah gives me something to go off. 👍
-
Because sometimes I can’t find what I’m looking for in the database. Or there are multiple entries from people who’ve added it and they are all different, hard to know which one to believe. But guess I can look pnr1982 the packaging see the calories and try find one that matches and enter the mls I’ve used. 👍
-
Ok, so will this work for mls as well, finding the calorie per ml then multiplying it up?
-
Also what if I wanted 20ml of milk would I use the above formula I did
-
Ok so just divide it then. What if I had a jar of pesto and 47g = 111.138calories But I only want 10g Is this formula correct - 111.138 divide by 47g= 2.364 2.364 multiply by 10g = 23.64calories
-
I thought that too, I did this formula you wrote with grams and it was incorrect, so I thought with mls it might be different. But if just dividing it in half is the way it works then I’ll do that. Thank you
-
Yeah I’d rather over estimate. Yes it was so good 😊 I stuck to low calorie breakfast & lunch (Weight loss shaked) so that I could have that for dinner.
-
Thanks, some good ideas
-
Yeah I agree. Pork is lean though isn’t it? Obviously not the crackle.
-
Yeah it could be, I expected it to be high, so saved up a bit. If it’s all my own cooking/serving, I’d use kitchen scales etc... The gravy was just instant, where it’s in a tin, just powder and add hot water. No meat juices added.
-
So 1k, what’s that in calories or kilojoules?
-
Thanks this is clear as, exactly what I was looking for. Now I know how to work it out. Thank you 😃✌️
-
Hahaha oh thanks everyone 😊👍
-
It doesn’t seem to match up with calorieking ...
-
Thanks everyone
-
Thanks everyone, I see I will measure way less than 125g.
-
Oh yes me too, I think I’m seeing these exercise logs as extra points or something. Good idea, I might just not log my exercise, but still do as much as I can each day. Thank you. I have only just started MFP & I have a fair bit to go, about 28lbs... ahhh.
-
I looked for this option, but couldn’t find it. Is there anything I can type to search it, in the exercise section?
-
Yes that’s sort of what I meant. I feel as if I’m unsure of my calories burnt during walking so I wonder about trying to enter less into my entries. I have done body pump too & enjoyed it, but no longer have a gym membership anymore.
-
Yes ok, so can you give me an example of how to use that formula to calculate my calories burnt. So far I understand weight x’s distance.... then what?
-
Yes true, but was just curious on an average portion on cereal & the calorie content in that portion. But 25g looks like a fair enough amount to me, so I’ll go with that.
-
Yes skewing data compromises the usefulness of that data- makes sense. But I just wonder how accurate it is. It told me I burnt 279 calories in a brisk walk 30mims. Yes I power walked/brisk walk. Hopefully it’s true 😊
