My point was that this is not fear mongering.as some one assumed. Understand what you are eating. There are good options and there are bad. My neighbor makes incredible veggie burgers from scratch using ingredients we can pronounce.

I had a great week. I didn't drink and I skipped my cheat meal. I started a 60 day challenge at my gym. I changed my workout plan to more strength training with heavy lifting. Improving resting HR is the measure of fitness. Increasing HR is not a sign of fitness and studies conclude that being close to max heart rate for long periods of time is more detrimental than beneficial.

Agreed. People with a negative outlook generally tend give up on the process. People with an optimistic outlook generally find even the smallest wins to keep them motivated.

I can tell you from experience. You would burn both fat and lean mass. I worked out to net negative 3k calories per day. (2 hours in the am and 2 hours in the pm) In 3 weeks I lost 15 lbs, but about 1/3 of it was lean mass. Build a serious plan around 2 - 2.5 lbs. a week and stick to it. There just aren't any short cuts.…
