  • I have been following a 16:8 intermittent fasting schedule for three years. Like others said, CICO is the most important thing. I lost 100bs in two years and have been maintaining for over a year. Tracking calories and exercising are key, but IF is a great tool for me personally. I find it easier to manage hunger and track…
  • Thank you, all! I appreciate the kind words.
  • I wish. We adopted her a few years ago and she gives me a block then wants to go home. Lol
  • Congratulations! You're absolutely correct.
  • You look incredible! Congratulations.
  • I'm down 95lbs in 20 months. It's a long process, but it's worth it. Aiming to lose 8-10lbs more then onto maintenance and recomposition.
  • Thank you so much! All of your advice is insightful. I utilized the calculation @wunderkindking provided and my daily calorie count on MFP is 250 lower, so I will increase my calorie intake.
  • I take the RenewLife ultimate flora women's care probiotic daily. I started taking probiotics a couple years ago when I was having digestive issues. I had terrible acid reflux. While the brand I use is expensive, I personally find probiotics to be beneficial. I rarely get heartburn anymore and Nexium is no longer something…
  • I started my weight loss journey in January, 2020. There have been several ah-ha moments along the way, but the biggest one for me has been to acknowledge and accept this is a marathon, not a sprint. I have failed at losing weight so many times because I insisted on setting a lofty goal in too short of a timeframe, failed…
  • Photo #1 January, 2020 and June, 2021 side by side. Photo #2 A wedding anniversary photo comparison. May, 2020 versus May, 2021. Down 90lbs. I have 15lbs left to go. The last 20lbs are no joke, but I'm committed.
  • quote="KelBlundell;c-46053978"]The distance between a size 18 and a size 16 is seemingly massive! The distance between 14 and 12 is really short! [/quote] Yes! 100%! I have to say, the distance between a 12 and 10 felt infinite for me.
  • @cmriverside, thank you again for the diet break suggestion. I read up on it and followed your advice. I chose to hit at least 10,000 steps a day and logged fairly loosely in Key West, but I allowed myself to eat whatever I wanted for ten days. Pure bliss. Key lime coladas should be illegal. Lol! While I gained 8lbs,…

  • I comfortably fit into a size 10 shorts and a medium top this weekend. When I first started my fitness journey in January, 2020 I was wearing size 20 pants and 2XL tops. I still can't believe it.
  • LOL! That's what my husband suggested, too.

  • Thank you all for your insight; I truly appreciate it. I'm definitely going to look into a refeed, @cmriverside

  • I was a vegetarian for 10 years and slowly transitioned into veganism 18 months ago. I personally didn't want to support the dairy industry anymore. Additionally, I was having major digestive issues eating eggs and cheese. Here are some things that helped me: Researching vegan crock pot meals. There are so many!…
  • I was discouraged the first few months of my weight loss; it took me about 25lbs to go down a size. I quickly went from a size 12 to a size 10, though. I started my weight loss journey in January, 2020 at a size 20 and I'm now a size ten. I've lost almost 90lbs total.
  • Congratulations! What a difference.
  • I agree with both of the posts above. I follow a plant-based diet coupled with the 16/8 intermittent fasting schedule. I also track calories, walks 3 miles at least 5 days a week, and I have lost 86lbs since January, 2020. You can do it; it takes time, patience, commitment, and acceptance. Some weeks are easy and some…
  • Yes! This! I started my weight loss journey in January, 2020. I cannot even begin to tell you how my fear of loose skin, aging myself, saying goodbye to my beautiful wardrobe, and not enjoying beer every evening delayed my weight loss. For years. After a health scare and a shocking number on the scale, I had enough. I have…
  • Thank you, everyone. I appreciate it.
  • Hi - I stick to eating within an eight hour window, so typically 12:30pm-8:30pm. Once I lost 50lbs, I felt comfortable giving myself some leeway on Saturdays. I still don't break my fast until after noon, but I will allow myself an extra hour or two for dessert or a cockatil. I only drink water when I'm fasting. I used to…
  • Thank you, all!
  • For me it's been the realization that this is a lifetime commitment, and I don't get to be `normal' if that makes sense. I had a bit of a meltdown last week. It has taken me 15 months to lose 80lbs and it was the first time I really accepted that my journey isn't ever going to end. I'm going to need to log my food, workout…
  • Thank you, @heybales! I agree. I enjoy the walking and I highly doubt I would have stuck with running long-term.
  • For me, yes. Other than at home strength training, all I do is power walk. I burn 1800-2000 calories a week. I walk 4 miles 6 times a week. I can't believe the difference in my body. Running bothers my feet, but I don't have any issues walking. I've found audiobooks and playlists have helped me tremendously. I've dropped…
  • Hell yes! I power walk 20 + miles a week and strength train 2-3 times a week, so I can eat those calories. I've lost 80lbs in 15 months. Could I have lost weight more quickly if I didn't eat exercise calories, or course. That said, this is the first time I've changed my lifestyle and stuck with it for over a year.
  • Thank you, both. I'm going to add 150 calories a day and reevaluate after a few weeks.
  • I collapsed twice, on pavement, due to bilateral pulmonary embolisms the summer of 2019. I was hospitalized and then had multiple subsequent infections, including Pneumonia. I was put on 13 rounds of steroids, blood thinners, multiple rounds of antibiotics, and had surgery. The infections were relentless, I became…
