Hi, I am Juanita. I don’t remember when I got diagnosed and just saw the A1C number and my weight go up and up. I had no guidance no support going up. I had enough when the A 1 C hit 9.3 and the weight hit 180 pounds on my 5’ body. I was sent to a dietician and got the guidance and support I needed, we brought the numbers…

Can this be edited? My A1C is 6.5

I did my labs, my A1C is 6.5

I have been so concerned about my health, I was beginning to believe I am a hypochondriac only to find out I am just nutritionally ignorant! I have a high blood calcium level, still in range but way up there. I looked into it and found out wheat blocks calcium absorption! So does spinach. You need a two hour gap between a…

What happened to Dylan55, it is way past his six week challenge

I was not aware of the cholesterol stuff, but I do have a lower than average risk for heart disease. I am also leaning towards the KIND diet, more produce, more fish. I have always leaned to a high carb diet, a lifelong biscuit eater, and sliced bread. Baloney sandwiches and ham. Birthday cakes and holiday pies.I don’t see…

Hi group, I did my labs last week and my A1C is now 6.5, this time I hope to keep it down. My cholesterol is 229. I can’t watch it like my glucose, but I can keep an estimate through the nutrients page.

SLcruz24, how did your colonoscopy go? I had fun preparing for my own scopy. I took a TV dinner stand and game magazines and sat there drinking the stuff and played games while the liquid did it’s thing. The procedure went well too.

My new goal is to keep my A1C down, I do labs August 25th. My glucose is randomly checked three times a week and I had a couple of spikes. Mostly, the glucose is around 100. I can’t advice you on macros, not having it yet is a good thing, you need to visit a dietician to prevent it through meal planning.

So, it is a ballpark figure. No problem, I use it as an awareness tool as posting every bite will get old so fast, I will skidaddle. I am aware I need to pay attention to those nutrients but not obsessive.

Yes, I am 68, Tumbleweed was my favorite comic strip growing up. My goal is to raise awareness to my eating habits and style as these are what led to my health issues. Weight loss is just a happy side affect to my nutrition changes.

What Latin person doesn’t love tortillas? I use olè Mexican food keto tortillas daily (only 50 calories each) and flour or corn tortillas as a guest where ever. This way I won’t binge and eat just one.

I kept tapping to open this discussion, and you opened up by accident. This experience is frustrating.

If you lost pant size but not weight, it is because you now have muscle, good job! The rest of us don’t have the muscle yet so we still fit in the same clothing. They fit better and hang better, but we are just seeing the same size, we are doing a great job as well, maybe add to our exercise time?

If you are posting in diary what you eat, click on nutrition at the bottom of the page, it will not only tell you how many calories you ate, but also break it down to the percentage of those calories are carbs, protein and fat. Too many calories for your goal and too many calories for your macros will be there if you…

So your hormones are unbalanced and a nutritionist can’t fix it. So you starve yourself. . . . It sounds like maintenance is harder than losing so the pounds come back on so you can lose again. At least you are trying something!

Remember to use these words “no thank you” “I’ll pass” “nope” It is your body, it is your life.

Okay people, too many calories, too many carbs, too many excuses. Use the ap to count every calorie you eat, use a journal to record what you eat, count the steps you take every day. Take all this information and make a daily goal for your calories, record what calories you ate when and why, and what time you reached that…

Two of anything will set you back, drink that beer, don’t drink that second one.

Wow. You got this Big Eric. You know what put the weight back on, not just two ice cream bars a night, two of anything will do it. The fries, or chips with your sandwich, the soda to wash it down. Keep the sandwich, pass on the sides. Go for the 10,000 steps a day, no celebration, no beer. Beer has calories too. Drink…

Don’t get hangry, take time for you to calm down and say no as well as no thank you. Life doesn’t go as planned so go with the new plans. 114 is no longer your new normal, 151 is. Pick a plan and go with it. Pick an exercise and do it faithfully. You don’t need our approval, you need your family’s approval and they love…

I thought 27 meant you have 27 posts! But yours is the only one!

It took a year? Well done! 🙂

So Ryan, are you unable to find your post? I am not looking for free advice from you, you started this post I commented but have a difficult time scrolling to find it. I posted in other communities, now can’t find them either.

Hi there! I have been using this app for a month and started posting last week. Design flaw: how do I find the posts!?

I just noticed you haven’t posted since February, did this group fizzle?

I have type two as well, for several years now, took the meds, exercised looked up diets, really didn’t follow them. Doctor told me I wasn’t bad off enough to consult with a dietician, now I am.

Hi, i am 67 to born in 1954. I have diabetes and am working on my A1C. It needs to come down. My goal is to have it down by August, when I do bloodwork again. Of course taking off 30 pounds won’t hurt, but that is not my goal. My motto is: every carb has calories, not all calories have carbs.

My A1C reached 9.2, I want to get it under nine by August, my next A1C test.
