This is what I feel too. Less carb makes my face less puffy, my belly less bloated. Making a list of what we can (and should) eat, and buying only those things is the best way to eat nutritious food. I am also trying to do the same (of eliminating unhealthy food). Thanks for sharing this.

@RubyRed427 I'm immensely grateful to you for creating these challenges and keeping the discussions going on. Also, thank you all for this positive journey for our healthy living goals. I call it healthy living because in the process of losing weight, I started realizing how much mother nature has given us to eat, and how…

Cucumber soup- another dose of vegetables. Good for those suffering from water retention. Good for cutting down calorie intake. In short, good for weight loss. Easy, quick to make. Very tasty. Can be eaten with anything. I suffer from dairy allergy so I just used cucumbers, mint leaves, and 1/4 cup of soaked cashews.…

Hi, @RubyRed427 thanks again for creating this new challenge. Currently, I'm focusing on eating more veggies and fruits, proteins, less grains, and for me, it makes a miraculous weight loss tool. May or may not work for others. This week, I came across a general rule for breakfast smoothies, which helps in getting many…

@SunnyDays930 Thank you for taking the time out to read that article and other comments! I was really moved to read people talking about their diets in the 0s, 60s, and 50s from various parts of the world and sharing their memories. It was like a trip down memory lane. I'm now trying to continue with that simple meals…

@RubyRed427 @200Karen Thank you and most welcome! I often talk with my elder sister about the meals we used to eat in childhood and the kind of food mother used to cook, and we literally drool over those memories. That inspired me to go back and start replicating my childhood meals. It helped me immediately with my…

Since April, I have lost 7 lbs. I fell sick in Feb-March and put on 6 lbs (because I was eating outside food, since I had no energy to cook at home). Now, I have lost all those extra pounds and lost one more pound on top of that. All because I decided to go back to the 70's diet. To eat what we used to eat at home. I come…

ok, so I used AI to create a plant-based meal plan and it turned out really good :) So, I asked AI to create a meal plan for a 200 lbs female who wants to lose 15 lbs in 3 months, and it gave this- Breakfast: 1 cup of oatmeal cooked with water or unsweetened almond milk, topped with a handful of berries and a sprinkle of…

Seems like there is universal wave of not being well :) I was overworked, overstressed and my blood pressure and blood sugar went haywire. Luckily, a family member is a wonderful doctor (diabetes specialist) so he gave me a full diet chart, some nutritional medicines, some for digestive system and very low doses of BP and…

@neanderthin they are lucky. They are healthy so they can eat spicy food.

It does, I also try to eat more real food, and it has really helped regaining my health and triggering a weight loss.

@penguinmama87 @PAPYRUS3 @AnnPT77 First of all, my apologies for not making clear why-s and what-s of my food choices. I should have given the context of what I was discussing I have sever dairy allergy and gluten intolerance. Things kept getting worse over the years and right now, I can't eat anything with preservatives.…

The more I progress in my weight loss journey, the more I believe that yes, eating less processed food and more "natural state food" is the key to weight loss for me. I hit a plateau in Jan, didn't lose any weight from the last week of Jan till the last week of Feb. Then I switched back to eating more fruits/vegetables/…

Seems like we all have been stuck last month at some place or other! Yes, vegetable soups are wonderful things to "snack" on, filling and nourishing and a great help in losing weight.
-
@nay0m3 you are most welcome :) I know how you are feeling, I have been there for 30 days straight, at times feeling like I have hit an invisible wall and the whole world is against me. It's a long term goal and slow and steady wins the race. Just enjoy your vacation and focus on nourishment.

I have been stuck in a plateau since the last week of January. Today, I have finally broken that plateau with zig zag diet (discussed here separately). This has given me hope that food is the biggest helper in our weight loss journey and we all can do it! We all can lose weight as much as we want if we let our food help…

Prayer has helped me a lot too. Attitude of gratitude- mindfully being grateful for everything that you have, will help lessening stress and negative thoughts. ( you can read about it here) Always look at people who are in a lesser position in life than you. That helps looking at things in perspective. Consciously think of…

I wfh too. And I use a simple trick to keep drinking water. I keep my coffee mug filled with water next to me, and sip through the day. I call it "snacking on water" :)
