12/24-190.6-(Trend Weight: 192.0)- Oh boy! Here we go! From here until the end of the year! Baking starts tonight and will go on until Friday. Our family party is on Saturday. Today will also be out-of-town shopping for fudge and cookie supplies. That means restaurant dinner and lots of car sitting. The Challenge begins! T-minus 3 lbs with 2 lbs to go on my micro-mini goal. I don’t expect to hit it by the end of the year but I’m staring it down and on it’s heels! Merry Christmas to those who celebrate His Birth.

12/31-192.6-(Trend Weight: 192.9)- After a one day buffer following our weekend Christmas dinner and party, I landed at a 1.8 lb loss over yesterday as I begin to work my way back down (thinking Positive here!). I am down 0.4 lbs from the start of December. So this is where I start 2025, like it or not. I was definitely lower at the start of 2024. On my first mini 5 lbs goal I’m at T-Minus 0.8 lbs with 4.2 lbs left to go. I’m feeling pretty committed right now but it’s always easier to be when you are not hungry. I’m pawning off more of my baked goodies and candies today. My construction workers will take some home! It’s necessary! Happy New Year everyone. Thanks for another great round full of great pics, ideas, advice and kindness. See you all in 2025!

Has anyone used vibration plates for workouts or simply to increase mobility? Does it work?

01/01-193.4-(Trend Weight: 192.9)- Okay, so this is not the greatest start for 2025 but I plan on having a great finish!  I certainly have plenty of time to turn it around so I’m starting TODAY. No time like the present, right? Wishing you all the very best in 2025. I am grateful for this challenge and for each and every one of you!

01/07-193.4-(Trend Weight: 192.9)- Exactly the same as I was on Jan 1st. Who am I fooling? I know why. But I have finally pawned off the last of the cookies and fudge from our Family Christmas celebrations on Dec 28th so things should go a little smoother from here. Clearly I need to work on more than just my diet. I need to work on my attitude and my resolve too. I’ve been experiencing a lot of different stresses, pressures and depressions lately with things that are difficult to immediately change. I need to figure out how to get through it all. I will keep working on my meal planning, water and pre-logging and hope the will to exercise comes back around. That is my pledge to me right now and I hope I don’t let myself down. I need positives!

I was 75% successful with my 4-day plan Jan 2nd through Jan 5th. (On Jan 5th I just succumbed to chocolate, orange juice and incessant couch snacking after dinner).

I make my oatmeal (with spinach, berries and chia/flax) in four-day batches, so for the remainder of January, I think 4-day plans are a good idea for my focus to reach challenge goal. Often, if I haven’t prepped breakfast in advance, I use that as an excuse to wash away the whole day with “bad” food choices. I recognize that my “all or nothing” mindset is the real challenge for me to address. Also, I think I need to eat bigger lunches and dinners to make the post-dinner snacking ultimately cease.

My plan for this Jan 7-Jan 10

    - weigh-in on 1/10
    - oatmeal breakfasts
    - on Friday 1/10, make sure I make my next batch of breakfasts for seamless progress!
    - Jan 8th and Jan 10th some kind of weight-bearing exercise
    - full dinners without snacking afterwards
    - log foods? I’m resistant to add this one because “I don’t want to” in my gut. Maybe I should set MFP to an 10,000 calories daily and not care about all the numbers, but just the practice of logging. I don’t like seeing when I’ve gone over my fat and sugar intakes by a lot, so I don’t like tracking. But maybe I do need to address this for weight loss?

How do you make the oatmeal with spinach in advance? I'm intrigued by the spinach. I like spinach but never considered it with oatmeal. Such a nutritional powerhouse!

@faurotann - I cook a cup of dry steel cut oats on the stovetop. Once cooked I add a block of frozen cut spinach. It gets drowned out by the bag of frozen berries I add - so it all tastes quite good (to me!) once divided into 4 servings. It’s a bit odd, but similar to many people’s breakfast smoothies. For a real treat, I’d make the oatmeal with milk, but I’ve cut that out and just use water.

Thank you so much. I'll do it. It sounds satisfying and good. I googled it and most of the recipes I saw were for smoothies. And it's interesting you used steel cut oats. Everything I looked at had old fashioned oatmeal.
