I am a fan of Designer Whey. I like the Vanilla, Chocolate, and Strawberry. I also prefer the ones made with animal proteins. The vegetarian ones always have a strong taste of PEA from the pea protein they use.

That's cool how you did the math. Thank you.

I have an appointment with a physical therapist that is supposed to introduce me to some lower body exercises including using a machine leg press. Right now I have to admit the idea scares the *kitten* out of me because if I fall I have to call the fire department or get a bunch of stout people to lift me up. So again…

Salads and Sandwiches from Subway™ are my go to because they still have the most vegetable options. That said if you're needing something greasy and bad for you McDonald's Unsweet iced tea, and a McDouble is less than 500 calories and less than 4 dollars(2.25 for burger 1.50 for the iced tea) where I live. IMHO pretty darn…

Thank you for your response. I do enjoy it. I don't have much going on, and going to the gym gets me out of the house. I like my gym except i guess its not cool. I go to Planet Fitness. I enjoy swimming more because of my injuries and limitations, but the public pools don't have a way to get me out of the water in a…

You're welcome. I hope you try it, and like it. Thanks for the compliment!

i didn't do Halloween this year because I can't have that much candy in the house. I am just not strong enough. Yeah I cut back on beer really quickly after I started logging it. 130-200 calories for 12 oz was an eye opener. Rather spend those calories on cheese for my burger. But I do have one once in awhile. Just have to…

How cool is that. I'd love to take up rollerskating, but I am afraid if I fall at my weight it could be very injurious.

When I am short protein I am a big fan of hard boiled eggs, and Ensure MAx Protein™.

I make 4 dozen meat balls(3 lbs of ground meat) then throw them on a tray and freeze them. Next day I bundle them up into 4oz portions and vac seal.

Done both lost weight with both. But found Mediterranean to be easier to follow, tastier, and easier to dine out with.

I am not the OP but I found this information very helpful. Never ever thought about those little fruit cups.

My cheat days have basically come down to staying within calorie goals, but less healthy food if that makes sense. For example I know I am going tailgating this weekend. I am not going to worry about having a couple of hot dogs and beers. I won't go over my calorie allotment, but yeah that hot dog is going to have chili…

For energy I found exercise helpful. When I first started all I did was 15 minutes on a upper body machine. And slowly I started to feel better and get stronger. So if you can exercise do so. Food wise what helped me was going low sugar(processed), and getting more protein. I am also a fan of volume/density eating(lots of…

My exercises are pretty standard and redundant. My hips/knees are shot from osteo-A so I only do upper body stuff. I got to gym 3 days a week at my current level. Hope to go to 4/5 days a week as I get stronger. 15-20 minutes on upper body recumbent hand cycle: Level 5.5 on a scale of 1-10. 5 sets curls(barbells and/or…

I was kind of like you in the fact I didn't know what to put together. It was a lot of trial and error. I found YouTube helpful. I looked up low sugar recipes, keto recipes, recipes for obese people trying to lose weight etc. Here's a go to for me for a lunch. Maybe you'll find it useful... 1/3 cup full fat Greek yogurt 2…

Started at 462 OFFICIALLY, need to get down to 265-275 to have surgery says the orthopedist. I imagine a lot of that weight was water weight. I was put on a diuretic when diagnosed with diabetes along with metformin which has wiped my appetite.

WTG and stuff. I hope to post something similar in a few months. :)

Yep. I am allowed 1800 calories a day. Sometimes it is picture perfect healthy foods. Some days it is a 1 meal day I have 3 Big Macs and a coke.

[quote="neanderthin;c-47711074 Right, yeah nuts and seeds on a caloric level higher in fat and should be the focus on a macro level. For example my go to nuts are almonds, cashews, hazel and brazil. Almonds are low carb with a low 20% of calories and high in fat around 50% and decent protein of around 20%, perfect for a…

My goal is... 50% protein 30% carbs 20% fats I eat a lot of grass fed beef, chicken, eggs, salmon, bacon, cruciferous vegetables, some brown rice, some legumes, and avocado or olive oil. Like a few others have said I don't get bogged down by the percentages. If I eat protein the most in a day I am happy. I have found in…
