  • Ran my very first 10k and needed a good cool down. Rode an easy pace, 6.8 miles after some stretching. Back home after a week of house sitting and eager to get back on the bike every day! Current stats: 42.3/2024
  • After Taekwondo last night decided to hop on the bike. Was trying to push myself a little, but I think I was already pretty tired. Averaged 11 MPH which *is* faster than usual. Working to raise that number though! https://strava.com/activities/11109317387 Current stats: 35.5/2024
  • My hope was to get two rides in yesterday but that didn't end up happening. No morning ride today either. The work week is getting ahead of me already! I'm so impressed when I see everyone else's ride lengths! My plan is to build up to 15-20 miles as my regular, but first I need to get used of doing this often again…
  • Watching TV while on the bike is actually nicer than sinking into the couch and getting all stiff. https://strava.app.link/rprvL9hnsIb Current stats: 26.8/2024 Slowly but surely!
  • Morning ride on the stationary bike. Kinda slow because I did it while playing a video game on the TV 😅 Great workout though! https://strava.app.link/HcSu5Nd7mIb Current stats: 19.3/2024
  • I would love to join in on this! The only bike ride I have logged is 4 miles from this morning. I will start logging these in Strava now though! Joining from a stationary bike Current stats: 4/2024

  • @penelopehatay Thank you for sharing! Your conclusions and insight are very helpful Day 38 Thoughts I've not been doing great at tracking the last few days, owing to a very busy time at both jobs. I've been monitoring carbs but not tracking calories. On a positive note, I have been tracking my water with my Fitbit, and I'm…
  • It was a stressful week last week with work and home stuff and I didn't have time to post. Sorry about that! Everything's just about the same though. I will be stopping the keto diet on Easter, so technically this will be a 47 day thing not 40. Doesn't really cause any problems via reporting though. The one thing I can't…
  • Thanks everyone for your insight and ideas! @SafariGalNYC that list of fruits is super helpful. Veggies have been pretty easy to get in but not fruits. I haven't entered yesterday's food into MFP yet so I can't tell you calories or anything like that, but so far no real difference from how I was feeling. We'll see if that…
  • @AnnPT77 I had lost quite a bit over last summer/fall, crept all the way back up in Nov/Dec, then after Jan was stuck about 5 lbs down at ~195. Not entirely where that puts me on the weight loss phase  But totally makes sense with losing all over and not seeing the inches, thanks for that insight! Weekend…
  • Day 22 Review Calorie total: 1,068/1,730 Carb Count: 11g Water Intake: 84 oz. Changes: - Continue water increase Day 23 thoughts Not much to report from yesterday, fairly standard day. Over Sunday/Monday there was a slight weight spike (gained 2 lbs over those two days) but then went back down to 182ish. Pretty typical of…
  • Day 20 Review Calorie total: 588/1,730 Carb Count: 18g Water Intake: 82 oz. Benefits Noticed: - N/A Drawbacks Noticed: - Tiny appetite Changes: - EAT MORE FOOD I know, I had just said I would try to eat more.... and then wasn't home until late and didn't want to eat right before bed (I can never sleep if I've eaten less…
  • @Melwillbehealthy It's funny you mention pasta - I was craving it all weekend! My family wasn't the richest growing up, and during the lean times we ate a lot of lasagna and chicken noodle soups because it was cheap and even the pickiest of us kids would eat it, so it's a bit of a comfort food for me. It's so great that…
  • Day 17 Thoughts Only a couple minutes to post - it's been a crazy week with both jobs. With one we have a new ED so there's a lot of shifting in the organization happening, and the other is ramping up for the big summer events, so I'm busy busy. Last couple of days it's been a real struggle to eat. I'm just not feeling…
  • Lenten Diet - Day 13 Calorie total: 1,124/1,730 Carb Count: 10g Water Intake: 55 oz. Benefits Noticed: - Steadier, better mood/mindset - Clearer (but not totally clear) skin Drawbacks Noticed: - Energy levels steady, but lower than what I would call “usual” - Acne popped up at corner of mouth that I think is partially…
  • Weekend Review EXHAUSTING. For one of my jobs we're ramping up for our major fundraiser, so after helping with watching younger siblings all of Saturday, I spent the greater part of Sunday afternoon addressing envelopes. Only 100 or so left to go! Phew One reflection I had about both Taekwondo and my evening runs is that…
  • Let's remember to keep conversation generally pleasant folks - we're here to talk about drawbacks in order to help counteract them/help newbies to the keto world decide if it is right for their bodies or not! Not to put down people who do keto one way or a different way. As I'm meal planning for next week, I'm definitely…
  • @xbowhunter Good to know! I may aim to stay lower carb after the Lenten period, I haven't really decided or thought about it yet. But at this point I know I don't want to be as restrictive about food as the current 20g limit for Keto. @Lietchi How interesting! I personally don't use antacid pills, and nothing in my…
  • @ninerbuff With you on that! After a week of keto, so far I'm feeling it is a great reset, but not a lifestyle I would choose for myself long term. But we'll see how the next month progresses. @sollyn23l2 I appreciate the mental image of Inigo Montoya debating in a keto forum. A fun pick-me-up @neanderthin Thank you for…
  • @rileysowner Thanks for the insight! I guess I just wasn't expecting those drops to be quite so large all at once. Good to know this is typical. Weekend Review Having three days off threw me, but I'm back! Food plan still going strong. The last couple of days I've also committed to getting out of bed no later than 6a and…
  • Something came up for tomorrow, so here's an evening edition of the daily review: Day 3 Review Calorie total: 1,612/1,730 Carb Count: 20g. Water Intake: 106 oz. Benefits Noticed: - Down another 1.5 lbs… tomorrow if I’m down a lot again, I’m calling that a drawback, because this doesn’t seem healthy/sustainable Drawbacks…
  • Day 2 Review Calorie total: 1,346/1,730 Carb Count: 20g. Water Intake: 56 oz. Benefits Noticed: - I’m not mad about eating bacon with breakfast 😀 - Having meals prepped has saved time - Down another ½ lb today Drawbacks Noticed: - I need to look into more ways to prepare chicken. Apparently my old go to was chicken with…
  • If you're eating healthier and getting your energy back... your ADHD might latch on and go nuts with it. When I was more lethargic/tired all the time/slower, my ADHD would give me bursts of speed sometimes and maybe my mind would run away. But now I'll be at work and if I've been sitting more than a half hour, I turn into…
  • Day 1 Review Calorie total: 1,859/1,730 Carb Count: 19g Water Intake: 64 oz. Benefits Noticed: - N/A - Down 1lb this morning Drawbacks Noticed: - Sleepy, but that may be unrelated - Munchies in the afternoon Changes: - Smaller breakfast to allow for more snacks - Spread out snack calories/carbs better - Drink more water…
  • @neanderthin Thanks for asking! For me, the whole reason is intentionally cutting something out that I normally enjoy and/or take for granted. As stated in the beginning of the post, I'm using this as an alternative for Lenten fasting, in which the idea is to take something out in order to simplify life/give more focus to…
  • Well I decided to go for it, because why not, and we'll see how things go. @lemurcat12 I'll certainly be paying attention to if there's bad reactions and looking for other ways to commit to God if needed. He certainly will understand. Thanks for looking out for me on that <3 @AnnPT77 Following your advice to check in and…
  • @tomcustombuilder Thank you for your insight! I definitely saw a lot of online articles that believed Keto diets were the magic cure to weight problems. While I'm not looking at it for this reason, it was a bit of a red flag, so thanks for helping note that and put it into perspective! Eliminating something drastic for the…
