  • I grew up in California, but lived in the DC Metro area for 12 years and fell in luv with Five Guys Burgers. I'm not a big fan of their fries however. Juicier, more flavor. I adore In-N-Out Fries. Now, I will not turn an In-n-Out burger away, but here in Cali if you have a Counter Burger joint near you, you should go! The…
  • I used to weigh myself every morning. Then I started getting paranoid at every pound I would gain and fixate on it. Now I try to weigh myself once a week. I find that I do have fluctuations due to what I eat and missing my meds, etc. For years I never owned a scale (20+ years). The only time I would go was when I went to…
  • Have you been eating a foods high in salt? Sodium is my #1 enemy and I find that after having too much salt I can gain up to 4-7 lbs quick! I always try to drink all my water, but sometimes that's not enough to counter to sodium. You'll probably find that it's temporary and will be gone soon...
  • Well I don't fit into the "descent" shape category, but I think that any level of activity burns something. If you accumulate the amount of "normal movement" activity into one lump sum at the end of the day it could be a decent number. It's personal preference if you want to count those "under 100 calorie burns" or not.…
  • I'd put them in towards the end. This way there is at least "some" texture from the fruits rather than everything "mush" down overnight. Cook your oats (steel cut is awesome, btw) and add your fruits when you get up. I luv that here is some crunch from the "cute" apples and some brightness front he bananas! :)
  • I wish I could afford one. They are one of the best mixer/blenders on the market. Commercial quality and will last a lifetime. I would buy a second vessel if you can if you use it a lot. Right now they are the one to buy next to BlendTec. I think QVC or HSN is selling the Vitamix on EasyPay. There is so much you can make…
  • I think most of the songs on my iPhone are high energy mixes making them all my exercise songs. I keep them there for all my cardio workouts. I feel that if I play something slow and I'm on the treadmill that I actually get off "step" But I like the idea of doing cardio at home on a whim. I have been on disability and home…
  • I have had the same problem as most on here. I will fluctuate in weight up 4 pounds one day, then 4 pounds down, 2 up - well you get the idea. I did find that if I ate foods high in sodium my weight would go up. I also noticed that when I eat white rice or high carb intake I tend to hold weight.
  • My Three Things: 1. Not having to use my asthma inhaler all the time 2. Being able to buy clothes from stores and online retailers I never could before 3. The confidence I have in knowing I can keep going
  • I never had breakfast in the mornings. I'd get up, get to work, have coffee and then didn't have lunch until after 2pm. I was starving my body and in doing it was affecting my blood sugars. Ever since I started eating breakfast, I noticed I have more energy thru the day and I think is a contributing factor to weight…
