I have struggled with anxiety issues all my life and have gradually learned to manage it reasonably well. 2 things that have helped alot are 1. meditation - lots of free guided meditations are available. Some address anxiety directly, some guide you to just calming down and being in the moment (yes, I know abit of an…

Firstly congratulations on your weight loss so far. You must be pleased, I know I would be. With regard to BMI - you cannot take your current estimate of lean body mass and assume that it will be the same or similar when you lose the desired amount of weight. You will lose some lean mass, even if you eat well, exercise and…

I went straight back to university and finished my degree (and more). Ex had said I wasn't allowed to study (amongst other things). Basically just turned around my life and I haven't looked back. Happily remarried to the best guy (24 years).

Awesome journey, well done. Such an inspiration!

I would use the perceived exertion scale and estimate cals based on age and fitness. There's plenty of exercise sites to help with that. Or you could use cals for other similar exercise. Or just dance.

I dropped all manner of hints about a WIi and fitness games for Christmas but no luck. I have used my friends fitness games and loved it. So if anyone would like to buy me one, you can send it to me in Perth. Oh, and please include Wii fit and this zumba. K Thanks

I don't know why people do all that stuff, maybe it's our inbuilt need to advise or something. But congratulations on your gorgeous babies they look so cute. I hope you can let all the un-needed comments wash over and stay strong and do what feels right for you. And I hope you and your family have a great new year. There's…

Yep, I'm a fast walker/slow runner and never expect anyone to get out of my way. I think the anger management idea has some merit. But maybe the OP was having fun? Haven't watched the video, is it a joke?

Well done on getting on top of the weight gain before it got toally out of hand. As long as your doctor is happy with your health and you are feeling good and healthy then it's a good thing. Medically prescribed and supervised diet pills are in the same place as anti-depressants for people with depression. They really help…

BMI is a statistically derived measure which correlates with adverse health outcomes of being overweight or obese in MOST people, except VERY muscular men, and VERY RARELY, a woman. If your BMI is in the overweight range you are at increased risk of developing diabetes, heart disease, arthritis and other ailments. If your…

Okay found a tomato brie tart recipe that suggests puff pastry, sliced tomato and sliced brie (duh). So here's the beetroot version I've come up with. Beetroot is quite tough when raw so best to cook first. Savoury Fresh made or shop bought short crust pastry (or puff if you prefer) - enough to line your tin, usually about…

Too true, but I come from a research background where you acknowledge the original author of posts and articles and any amount of writing, just couldn't let it slide.

Damn, thought this would be a recipe...

Half a pound a week is really good, sustainable and gives your skin time to adjust so you are less likely to have sagging skin issues. How much exercise are you able to do? Adding a bit more may help. Reducing cals slightly may help, maybe adjust every 2 weeks down to about 1500. Being stuck behind a computer all day…

For every dollar you spend in the tanning bed, put aside another 1000 dollars to deal with your skin cancer down the track.

You rock Mrs Floyd! I am going to rock my awesomeness for ever more. Love it! This just gave me a mega boost.

Nothing worse than having to drag yourself through the day. I'd be asking the doc to check: Thyroid function Vitamin D levels Blood sugar and make sure you're drinking enough water to be properly hydrated. Some people find B group vitamin supplement can help although I'm not sure there's much hard evidence on that (please…

The BF scale gives you 2 different readings depending on the setting - alarm bells are ringing here, your BF doesn't change from second to second, depending your decision to be an 'athlete'. I'd say ignore all the BF readings from scales like that - they are BS.

Wondering why only one. My favourites are squats, lunges, deadlifts, split squats. With all of these you can do them in the gym with weights or at home with or without weights.

I remember someone posting an item about the dishonesty of "weight loss miracles" before and after pics. The buff pic is the before.

The alcohol evaporates, so it's not in the food anymore, so you don't have to count it, subject the rest of the discussion.
-
Ha ha ha, yes if you cook for 2.5 hours you remove about 95% of the alcohol.

Alcoholic liquids will only catch alight if they contain a high percentage of alcohol. The standard point for that is known as the proof point (about 57% alcohol). So liquids will boil, even if they contain alcohol, and the alcohol will take quite a while to boil off.
