Tired all the time...

Anyone else struggle with low energy? Lately, I have been soooo tired all the time. I sleep about 7 or 8 hrs/night, so I am certain it's not sleep deprivation. I'm getting plenty of nutrition and I eat a little bit every 2-4hrs, so I don't think it's low blood sugar. I'm just tired of being tired all the time.

I take a super vitamin B complex vitamin every morning to help with my energy. Try adding short 10 minute exercises to your day such as a quick walk or a few jumping jax. hope that helps.0

Yeah I think you should maybe get a general check-up from your GP (local Dr) to be safe- the thyroid thing is one possibility. You say you are eating regularly but are you eating good healthy slow burn foods like wholewheat stuff, oats, seeds etc? What's your lifestyle like? Are you working flat-out at a job/caring for kids/ a family 24/7 when you are not sleeping? Are you "over"- exercising and not allowing your body to recover? Are you getting good quality sleep? ie unbroken, non-anxious (some people need more than 7-8 hours). (Are you depressed?) Just some thoughts... Hope this helps a bit - s'not meant to worry you.0 -
Low iron, low carbs and over training can all lead to tiredness.0

Are you drinking enough ?0

I have the same problem but mine is because of a vitamin D deficiency as I was tested for thyroid problems0

the B complex vitamins help me0

Nothing worse than having to drag yourself through the day. I'd be asking the doc to check:
Thyroid function
Vitamin D levels
Blood sugar
and make sure you're drinking enough water to be properly hydrated. Some people find B group vitamin supplement can help although I'm not sure there's much hard evidence on that (please correct me if I'm wrong).0 -
i had the same problem and had my vitamin d levels checked - there were extremely low so i started taking a mega dose of it weekly, and i do much better now. its not as big of a deal in the summer but it gets a lot worse in the winter for me.0

This.
I had this problem in college, and we realized that I had a completely out of whack thyroid. Sleepy and weight problems? Let your doctor know, and they will likely send you to get your thyroid hormones checked.0
