I always use mine. I have a polar FT7 and find it very helpful with counting calories.

I love it. I have it on my iphone so I can log food whenever I eat. My weight was 15.3 stone on the 1st of Feb, I started MFP in April as I wanted the weight to come off. Yesterday my weight was 13.6 stone. Just make sure you have fun doing it.

I use a HRM FT7. I find that is the best way to do it. Hope that's a little bit of a help

not sure about what do do while at work but when you're home with the baby, put on a HRM (if you have one) put the baby in the pram and head out for a fast 30-40min walk. As a nanny that's what I do, some days when I don't get a chance for a workout I'll head out and walk during nap time. He gets a great nap in the pram…

what a cool thing jeanineadele. My sister and I are both doing MFP. She is bigger than me so is almost into the things that no longer fit me. I thought the other day I might need to have a look in some of the second hand shops as I don't want to pay a lot of money for things that might not last me very long. If there are a…

wow you look great.

I don't always eat my workout calories, as long as I eat my base calories it's fine I think. But there are days were I'd like a little more to eat so on that day I'll eat that days exercise calories.

if you know the place you're eating at see if they have the menu online and if it has the cal on it. So places in the UK do do that.

I have a polar and it was easy do set up and as long as I remember to change my weight when I lost It's great. My sister has a garmin and she said it was easy to set up too. We both love the one we have.

great job over the 4th July weekend. It's always good to do the work out in prep for the night/day ahead. Keep it up DR
-
yes you can do. I know as I just have. Keep it going and write all the food you eat, if you do want that piece of chocolate have it but write it down and if you need to work it off do it....... good luck and have fun with it.

I agree with Chenoachem. I was adding in exercise time from the data base and at times it said I worked off more than I really did. I only found this out once I got a HRM. I have a question, how do you put posts on?? I can answer people but don't know how to ask questions......

If I wake up early to exercise I don't do as much as I'd rather be in bed. For me it's better to get up get ready to start the day and do a nice walk to work. You could walk to school or park with the kids??? I'm a nanny so then I get the older one of to school and before heading back to the house to get the buggy and take…

DR you are so right about not think of it as a diet. I love this site and think of it as a bit of a game. I'm losing weight, eating right but having a great time doing it. I would love to run into you on the beach but sadly I'm in the UK and tend to swim in the pool as the beaches over here aren't very sandy :) keep up the…

whirlpools are great. you can go one way for say 3-5min then turn and go the other way, now that's a good work out if you run so the water is really moving. Kicking around is also good, playing pool basketball, hoops, water polo (where you run instead of treading water).

I have a polar ft7 and it does it for you. I wear if I know I need to to hours or ironing and it tells me how many calories I'm burnt. I can wear it swimming. You have to set it up when you first get it and make sure you change your weight each time you lose any. I love mine.

don't think of this as a diet and don't stop your self from eating what you'd like.. I know I don't and I've been losing weight still. I just look at what calories I have and then decide what I'd like to eat and if I don't have enough calories I do some stepping or go for a walk. I have a step at home so while watching tv…

I have a polar FT7 and love it my sister has a Garmin FR60w and she love 's hers.

I agree with Amandac6772. I also have chocolate and other very yummy things, that I was eating without doing MFP I would be getting bigger and bigger just eating them. But I find if the calories are there and I find myself feeling like eating that then I do. If I don't have the calories there friends think I'm funny as I…

Hi I'm also on 1200 calories a day. I try never to go over that unless I've done something to earn more calories. I don't go crazy with exercise, I walk to and from work (40min each way) and if I really want chocolate or anything else I'm craving, or even a can of coke or two, then I might do a little more exercise. I…

I have a wii fit and also ww scales. If the batteries need changing in either one they can be way out but normally it's only out a very small amount or the same. We've also checked them with our gym scales as we went through a time where we were getting really mixed weight. That's when we worked out it was the batteries in…

Good luck with it and don't think of it as a diet. That's what I've found the best, and I'm really enjoying it. I have it on my iphone so find it easy to add my food each time I eat something. I'm only on 1200 cals a day as I'd like to lose 2p a week. But I let my self eat what I want but. If I want that piece of choc and…

I'm with you walking alone in the country can be a problem. If you want to do it tell someone what time you'll be back, which way your walking, where all the bright color clothes. But I would be happier doing an hour of step at home, and I find I burn more calories that way too. During the winter here it get dark at 4:30…

yes I think scales are a great tool to have. I was very bad before with guessing how much I had a on my plate.

http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/caloriecounting-tips-for-dining-out.html Some idea's. I'm heading to the USA in Oct so will be checking things out before I leave and deciding the best places to eat. Some hotels have a pool and swimming burns lots and you could take the kids with you.

Hi as a nanny myself I often ask for a step to be put into the room so the kids can reach the sink and get onto the loo without help (not sure how young the youngest is). I use it to do step aerobics on when the kids have gone to bed or while we're all watching TV at the end of the night. Checking online for calories at…

white rice is better then brown rice as white has less starch in it. I just learnt that on the biggest loser.
