Ah ok, great. Thanks so much. :) so how does this challenge work then ? Just logging number of workouts completed OR are we pre-measuring and post-measuring or ?? :):)

Hi there, sounds good - sounds like you've got the full set of DVDs there - they must be good huh. do I need any equipment for the weights one - I don't have any free weights or resistance bands. Like the idea of less cardio - keep the heart rate up but you are concentrating on strength and toning rather than getting…

Sounds perfect to me. 20-30mins is do-able every other day. With my running training, I am looking to incorporate some strength training too for toning/trimming. The running seems to be doing all it should in terms of fat burning, so I'm not really looking for that. Count me in... I will check out which DVD to get now.…

Hi there, I love the idea of this challenge. As I am training for a half-marathon - I do a lot of training (running) outdoors, so would struggle with a commitment like this every day. I think 20 days out of 30 is definitely do-able. What DVD do you reccommend ? I've lots of friends who love her - she is pretty hardcore…

Hi there, I thought about trying this. What's it like ? Am I right in thinking you do it EVERY day - if so, for how long ? Is it 30-45mins - let me know. I've only got a small flat, so if I need a lot of room it might not be any good for me. What do you think ? x

Wow! What a transformation Gareth! Good for you.. you must feel fabulous... you look great. Keep up the great work - what a motivation you are! :-)

I have a Polar FT4 HRM which I love....
-
Polar FT4 - £50 on Amazon too. Love mine. :)
-
My is the Polar FT4 - it's about £50 in the UK - from Amazon.. :) I love mine, wear it for all exercise... seems pretty accurate, the MFP "guesstimate" is often massively out, so I can depend on my HRM.

Ah I didn't think so. That's a shame. I have no pockets, and the netball mini-dress we have to wear as part of the kit has little scope for hiding it (on a bra strap or)... :( Worth asking... thanks anyway all x

recipe ideas sound great.. thanks.

Whatever works for you. I've seen articles that say you "ought" to have a bigger bfast and a smaller dinner in the evening before bed (to aid digestion/metabolism etc. But I just make i work for me. So if I've a big lunch out, I have a lighter tea - and vice versa. More often than not I have more cals in the evening meal,…

Well so far this week : Monday - 5.6km - lunchtime - 43mins Wednesday - 4km - lunchtime - 29mins Today - 4km - lunchtime I've set myself a 75km in July challenge. I've done one third of that, within 11 days of July, so I'm pretty much on target. I'm super slow, but trying to build up my distance for now. :)

Hi, Fairly new to running myself. Did 5km Race for Life back in June (this is the first time I've managed to run it all) - and although I'm very slow (5km takes me 35-38 mins), I love it. I am slowly building up my distance. I regularly (3 times per week) manage 5km each time, so 15km per week. I love it, definitely caught…

I used to this all the time when I followed the Weightwatchers programme, so I know it works (for me at least!).. but there are weeks when it doesn't, for whatever reason. So i wouldn't make it a regular thing, but works well for damage control to help eleviate the guilt and fit it in around your lifestyle. Any diet you…

I love potatoes too - so I've just adapted how I serve/cook them. - Baby new potatoes - boiled or steamed - part boil then cut into wedges (bit like chips, not crisps for the US guys out there LOL), then spray with frylight and dust with cajun seasoning - for spicy wedges (better alternative to roast potatoes with lots of…

more skirts knee high boots this winter shorts for the gym (currently weigh black trackie pants!) fitted tops again to show off my waist/bust :) :)

Thanks all, just been out again today. Managed to cram a 4km run in this time (29mins) - but feel tons better about stretching my 15km per week current tally over more regular shorter runs when time is tight. As always, appreciate the feedback and comments... Hope you all have a fab day xx

Either is good for me, but then I do put a blob of honey in it to sweeten it. not a lot, and then add to granola n berries. Mmmmm....

I've been doing 3x 5km runs per week. So thinking I could do instead: 2x 3km lunchtime runs per week 1x4km 1x5km (my regular saturday morning "Park Run) Still totals 15km per week - FTW! :) We'll see.. might be a way to cram in a workout, rather than "oh I haven't got time for a run today".... :-)

Ditto, ditto, ditto... This is exactly what I was after. I see so much that people of our height (5'7") wanting to get to 9 stone and 10 stone, and I wonder if that's doable !?! Different builds and lifestyles I guess. I cannot realistically get THERE, I don't want to set myself up to fail. I'd be happy at 11.7 but 11 be…

Obviously not as tall as you, but I've no real aspirations to be a size 10. I'm not sure that is sustainable for my lifestyle, I enjoy eating out and a glass of wine a little too much (!)... ;) Well done with your journey, you're doing so well. Keep up the good work. I suspect at 6' that you might be a different build to…

First of all, can I agree with a lot of the other posters here. What is target for some, will be different for others. Also it has to be sustainable, so no point setting a goal like someone else - compare by all means. But I know that for ME, I will never be thin thin. Currently: 5'7" Age: 36 yrs Weight: 191 lbs Size (UK):…

I love my Asics, I'm in the market for a new pair, and I won't buy any other. Very comfy. But as a few have suggested, they might not suit your running style. So I lucked out with these, these are my 2nd pair of Asics now. x

I run 5km (3.1 miles approx) in 36-38 mins. So I too am VERY slow. In fact there are days when I need to stop and walk for a minute or so, before resuming, and I still manage this time. Proving my walk time is the same as my run time. Kms and Miles are just that, it doesnt matter how fast you do them. Its activity and it…

Currently Christian Grey!!! ;)

hi, Almost finished the 1st book. haven't seen the film yet. My OH loves the books and is part way through the 2nd one AND he's seen the film too. That's next for me. At the moment, my time is taken up reading my "socially acceptable women's p*rn" that is "50 shades of grey"... :) I gave in to peer pressure. xx

Hi there, Fellow Hampshire-ite here! I live in Fleet. I'm 36, lost about a stone overall, still got 2 stone to go. Just started running, which I love. Welcome to MFP, feel free to add me... xx

I was among the joggers, hoping to run it all (at a slow pace) but rather annoyingly there was a LOT of walkers among the "joggers crowd" (they separate/stagger them for a reason!!!) - it was annoying as they crossed the start line but didn't start to jog, so they clogged everyone up, trying to set off... Grrrr...... :-(…
