75%fat, 20%protein, 5%carb. Often just over on protein and just under on fat. Just restarted a week ago, been off the wagon since my second son was born 7 months ago. So glad to be back on

that's far from impossible but it'll be tough . I lost 13kg in about 6 months so surely you can meet your goal. good luck.

I started lifting to put on some muscle so now have to eat 2600 calories and it is hard when I was happily eating 1800 before. Just have to eat lots of pb, avos, nuts etc.
-
When I said rediculous I didn't think the numbers are way off, just shocking. I just don't know how you can eat that much physically without eating poor foods like sausages, fast foods bucket loads of pasta etc etc. which would render me full to the point of vomiting. I've eaten about 2600-2800 today still need to write it…

Well that's a fairly negative assumption. Guess I'm gonna have to try eat even more. Peanutbutter is probably gonna be my friend as I already eat 6 times a day and am never hungry. As with my workout I'm gonna cut it down and do mostly compound moves. And eating 3000 calories is with or without eating back exercise?
-
But what you are saying is id have to eat like 3500 calories. I'm not a big guy I only weigh 136lbs. And I don't want to be a big guy, I just want a little bit more fullness to my chest, shoulders and arms but not much. to me that number sounds like an extreme gym buff?

using that calculator if I include work as standing/walking (I'm a panel beater so its not light) it wants me toeat 2800 just to maintain!? That's rediculous! And I only did my work as 4 hours. 8hours would be 3000
-
I used caloriecontrol.org's calculator.

[/quote] I'd agree, but most people disagree with me. It was mainly for the compound lift examples, and grouped exercises. I think people are missing the bit where you said that you'd be eating your exercise calories, but if you want to gain muscle, it's still too much work and too little calories. My other concern is the…

Its 2100 if I enter my exercise/activity as moderate or 2400 at heavy.

A few of the articles on 5x5 are saying its not ideal for beginners?

Suggesting I up my calories again?
-
Wanna gain a little size in my arms, shoulders and chest but mostly get a bit more of a ripped look. I don't want to get huge by any means.
-
More or less chucking half the stuff I'm doing all into one day and dropping one day of lifting. I'm guessing keep my cardio light? Still ok to do 2 days of cardio?
-
Yup as kiwi as fush and chups and l& p. Haha.
-
Keep ending up with sales pitch balony! Can someone give a link to or make some compound exercise suggestions
-
Not new per say. I've been doing insanity and chin, pullups, dips and pushups 6 days a week. Just got weights to lift now instead of body weight. Done the gym thing before. What's absurd about it? The four days of lifting? Or that I'm doing insanity as well? I could do the recovery insanity both days? That's not meant to…
-
Thanks. Just started lifting, only got dumbells and chin/pull up/ dips bar for as I get stronger I'll grab a barbell and stack some weights on the dumbells. Can't see myself skipping a lifting day, I just love the feeling and look of your muscles pumped full of blood. Its addictive!

Thanks the advice on carrying snacks. Will chuck some in the glove boxes of our cars. Coincidentally I'm going to have a check up tomorrow so might swell test for diabetes as my dad, his brother and my grandad have it.

It happens alot when we are out because I don't want fast food or we are busy and there is just no way to get what I need. Its more frustration than anger
-
I've been doing it but not full on for a while now and believe me its tough. It just gets tougher too as you just push harder and harder. And damn it gives results well did for me. I had reconstructive knee surgery in june I think and had got up to 76 kgs, started insanity late september or early october I cant remember.…

Just stare them out right back with a "WHAT?" You have just as much right and as much to gain being there. Just my opinion. :-) its just coz they are used to seeing girls only foolishly on ttreadmills or ellipticals so its probably just a bit of shock or even admiration.
-
Got some weights finally.I'll stay just under maintenance, I don't want to wreck my muscles, I want them to grow. Hopefully I push it over the edge and get that last little pop because its more or less a six pack now just not super ripped.

Sounds good to me.
