  • eleven years on MFP, for the first time I'm now thinking of leaving. This really makes me mad. Paying to scan???
  • I work in a jail and this is what is done. So far, two staff members have caught the virus and zero inmates.
  • I had a six year streak going until my cruise last fall. I knew it would have to end sometime lol.
  • I look at my weekly average. Like a lot of people I tend to eat more on the weekends, so I eat a little less on the weekdays.
  • It just depends on the day for me. I tend to overeat if I'm just moderately stressed, but lose my appetite if I'm super stressed. In other words, one day I'm over eating and the next have no appetite lol.
  • I’m worried I’m going to get stuck at work. I’m a corrections office in a Washington jail, but live just over the border in Idaho. What if they announce a state travel quarantine while I’m working? I think others worry about it too, but part of me thinks I’m over reacting and they’d let us go home.
  • I work as a corrections officer in a jail. Today the Regional Health District Doctor came and spoke to us. There is not a single confirmed case in our city yet. The Dr. said they are here however. He said this is not just like the flu, and it's mortality rate is indeed higher. He said there are not enough testing kits. He…
  • I'm 58 and have asthma, not really sure where this places me in the spectrum lol. I do feel rather useless and like I and others don't really count though when I hear these types of comments,
  • I read it a few years ago too. I actually didn't even think of this book though, when all this started, I could only think of the Stand. Someone else may have mentioned this, as I haven't read all the comments, but it is being made into a show.
  • 29 years of marriage, 8 years of MFP. Both life changing lol.
  • Thank you! I really do need to pay more attention to the kinds of foods I’m eating and not just the calorie count. Also, I have noticed my muscle strength has gone down and I need to exercise more than I do.
  • Thank you! I am definitely not trying to use this as an excuse I just wanted to be informed and you and everyone else have been very helpful.
  • I am pretty good about logging everything, and I don't eat out too often, but I try to be as accurate as possible For example I ate out last night, the calories were listed on the menu for my item so I quick added it. the reality of course is that is can still be quite a bit off. I only eat out occasionally though, and…
  • Thank you, I don't really pay attention to my macros, but know I tend to go carb heavy, so I'll take a look.
  • Actually, We did just go on a cruise in October lol.
  • Thanks, all for your replies and help. I am 57 years old, but due to some other medical stuff I have had a period except for very occasionally for over 20 years, so unless I go get tested I don't know for sure. I have had hot flashes that are winding down, so I'm assuming here, that I'm finishing up menopause. I have never…
  • I've never liked to weigh every day because the fluctuations drive me crazy. I've been weighing myself every Friday at the same time of day for years now, so it should be pretty accurate
  • I do weigh and measure and have a digital scale. Plus after doing this for so many years I'm pretty good at knowing portions, but I also know I could be just a little off and it could detail me some. Thanks for your imput :)
  • Great job! You look wonderful!
  • 118 pounds five years ago. Paid no attention to carb intake.
  • What did you do to change your eating habits? There's a saying you might have heard. Weight loss happens in the kitchen, you gain good health in the gym. The workouts are great for you health, but to lose weight you need to be eating at a caloric deficit, which is not necessarily the same thing as eating healthy.
  • I guess I'm the exception. I've been eating them for lunch at work for years now and I've always just put in the listed calories.

  • Congratulations on your progress, it helps when you both work together and you look amazing!! My hubby and I joined way back in 2013, and lost a total of around 245 pounds between the both of us!
  • Read the article quiksylver attached, It has some great information. Read the success stories, there are plenty of them, so many that started out learning too. One of the most important things I learned was that there is no magic fix. Figure out how many calories you need to eat to achieve a healthy weight loss, buy your…
  • Fantastic!!
  • If you lost weight on a low carb diet, it still came down to CICO. I pay pretty much zero attention to carbs, but lost 118 pounds almost five years ago by calorie counting. I'm 56. I think it's wonderful that you have lost the weight, but low carb is not the only way to go.
  • I'm 56, and yes I definitely look older, but it's also been five years since I lost the weight, so I guess that's part of it too. It's funny because ever since since I lost weight, I see my grandmothers face in the mirror now, when before I looked nothing like her. (She was always thin)
  • I really need to get rid of that diary I kept for a year when I was seventeen. It makes me squirm to read it, and I keep thinking about when I croak someday and my family reading it with all my teenage drama and angst lol.
  • I'm 5'4, 150 pounds and 56 years old. I am not very active and maintain on about 1700 to 1800. I've been maintaining for almost 5 years.
  • I lost well over 100 pounds almost five years ago. All I did was count calories. I paid zero attention to sugar or fat or carbs.
