Menopause and weight loss
First, a little background. I lost almost 120 pounds 6 years ago. I maintained that loss until this last year where I’ve gained 25 back. This was of course due to over eating although I have maintained logging throughout. I started seriously trying to lose this about a month ago. I eat between 1200 and 1300 and am lightly…

So you've lost your motivation........... it doesn't matter.
During my time here on MFP, I have seen time and time again, posts that start with stuff like " I lost my motivation." People will write about how they have lost their excitement and motivation and ask what they can do to keep on going, so they don't fail at this. Here is my humble opinion. Motivation does not matter,…

Secret tips to help maintain.
So here is one of mine. I work with a great group of people. But.....they do love to talk a lot about their co-workers including me I'm sure. I starting maintaining a year ago, and I am quite sure that this is how some of their conversations went. Co- worker #1, "Wow, she sure lost a lot of weight!! It's amazing, but I'll…

Together we've lost 247 pounds!!
This is one of our wedding pics from way back in 1991. Here were are about five years ago. And here are a few recent pics. Both of us (papadon78) have worked together on this along with MFP. We are big believers in everything in moderation. We are living proof that this can be done, even for us older folks who struggled…

Fitbit and maintenance
Just curious about others experience with this. Every week fit bit sends a weekly report. It says how many calories were burned versus eaten that week. So far, it still shows me in a little bit of a deficit every week. Has any one else noticed if this is very accurate for them?

NSV "If every day were like today"
Yesterday, when I completed my logging for the day, and it said "if every day were like today, you would weigh ---- in five weeks." That weight is my goal weight!!!! Yay for me!!! It's very surreal lol

Alcohol calories
Ok, so here's a stupid (and slightly drunk) question. When we drink, we have to pee a lot. I have drank a few glasses of wine this evening, and have went to the bathroom at least three times. So, since it makes you urinate more often, am I not getting rid of those calories??? I am hoping for a positive answer lol!

51 years old; 11 months; 100 pounds!!
Hello all! Here is a little back ground on me. Ever since I had my youngest son 18 years ago, I have struggled with my weight. I started out around 210 pounds wayyyy back in 1995, and every year the pounds would keep piling on. I love food, I will never be one of those people who simply eat to live. Over the years, I tried…

Fitbit calorie adjustment.
Got my fitbit flex. It says it is synced. The first day showed a calorie adjustment under my diary, but nothing in the last two days. I just did the treadmill for an hour and no adjustment. I searched all the forums and FAQ. Any help would be appreciated.

First time in almost twenty years!! Onederland!! Pics.
This is my story so far. I am 51 years old. I have been over 200 lbs since the 1995 birth if my son. Every year it has gone up with the last ten or so being in the 260's. Like so many of us here,I thought and despaired over this daily. Most of my attempts didn't even last a day. I'll be honest, nothing really clicked this…

A common dilemma, I know!
I have been losing weight (fifty lbs) on a 1200 calorie diet for four months. Now as I read these posts I am getting worried about gaining once I hit maintenance. I was thinking in my purely unscientific way, I wold start upping my calories by about fifty, every ten pounds I lose. I have around 70 lbs to go. I am currently…

Gradual upping of calories
So, here is my plan (maybe). I have been at 1200 calories for four months. I am listed as sedentary and have just recently started exercising. ( I plan to eat back my calories) I have lost 50 pounds with about 60 to go. I was thinking of slowly upping my calories, going to 1300 when I have lost 70 pounds, then 1400 when I…

Calorie shortage
If I come up short on my daily calories, should I make them up on other days or not? Yesterday I was sick and in bed and only had 200 calories, so is it better or worse to make those up?
