• Really? I have logged Pilates before with no issues
• This is me! Fortunately I still didn't suffer too badly from PMS, cramps etc.. too badly but apparently I wasn't absorbing it either. The ring seems to be taking care of that. Glad to hear it hasn't really caused weight gain (or loss). As long as I am still accountable for my actions, that's what matters!
• Great to hear! So far I haven't had any side effects so that was my last concern. I don't want to go ahead and blame any issues I have losing weight on the NuvaRing so it's nice to know it is still in my control so to speak :)
• Hello! Melbournian here :)
• If you haven't done yoga before I would recommend doing a few classes first just so you understand the flow of things. I did really enjoy Bikram yoga, it burnt a lot of calories that's for sure! You do become more flexible in the heat and i certainly felt like I had a good stretch after each class. Having said that, I only…
• My meat, pastas and veggies yes, but not so much my salad/spinach/herbs/spices.
• NO NO NO..... please go on http://iifym.com/iifym-calculator/ enter you information and find out your TDEE and BMR. BMR is basically the minimum cals you should eat, TDEE is your maintenance cals. Subtract about 15%-20% off your TDEE to give you your defeicit calorie range. I can guarantee it will be higher than 1200 cals.
•
I weigh 170 lbs which means I burn about 1700 to sustain, in order for me to have a deficit of 500 calories a day I would have to consume 1200 calories a day, which has been very difficult for me.
I don't know your height but I am 168cm and about 140 pounds and I have to eat 1950 per day to maintain?…
• Start doing weights as well, this helps strengthen the muscles and pull everything in so to speak. As long as your diet is on point as you start to lift weights everything else should firm up and fall into place.
• Profile created July 2014, no pics, 2 friends and this is the only forum post.....I smell something fishy going on.
• These are my foolproof go to exercises for at home; - Pushups - Plank - Squats (you can make these harder by increasing to jump squats or even a medicine ball squat press) - Lunges (grab yourself some cheap dumbells from Target and make these harder as you get fitter) - Step ups/Knee ups (use a chair or step ladder) -…
• 1500 is fine but the important thing about IIFYM is making a strong attempt to hit your macros, try to get that protein up! As long as you are exercising and hitting your macro targets the weight will come off. :)
• Hey, Welcome to add me. I currently have my cals set to my TDEE and try to ensure I eat below that each day (usually by 300-500, some days are a little higher if I do cardio also) so I can visually see my defecit. I am currently following IIFYM loosely and share my diary with my friends.
• Sometimes I cook just 2 or 3 days worth and intersperse them with buying something or the leftovers from the night before. The other great meal idea I have is homemade pita bread pizzas, everyone likes cold pizza right! I don't normally take these for lunch, usually leave a few slices in the fridge as a snack.
• I try and cook my lunches for the week on a Sunday night, taking them out as I eat them. I usually cook some chicken and steamed vegetables, mixing up the seasoning/sauce on the chicken. I keep it in the fridge or ice pack and then heat it up in the microwave at lunch time. Do you have access to a microwave at all during…
• I think everyone is different, as it is a mental thing. Some people can push through seeing the scale fluctuate and some would rather see a consistent loss every fortnight or month. I personally weigh in everyday and then average out my weight for the week. This for me balances out the fluctuations and gives me an…
• Love LaManna they have EVERYTHING!
• The other users pizza example was excellent, but for the simpler issues you are having; If you want to eat 1.5 ounces and the option is listed as an ounce just say you are having 1.5 servings. If the option is 10 ounces and you want 5 ounces just saying you are having 0.5 of a serving.
• I have had them done a few times, try and get 'silk' ones if possible. I do have to say think before you part with the money because they need to be maintained. Basically after a few weeks clumps will start falling out and you will look a bit patchy in the eye area. This is why I don't do it anymore, I just couldn't keep…
• I try and go straight before or after work so there is no chance for me to find something else more pressing....it's amazing how clean my house is when I don't want to exercise! Just put your gear on and go! You might be exercising for 20 minutes or 2 hours depending on your energy levels but at least you are doing…
• Just remember you don't get fat by eating terribly once in a while. Just like you don't get skinny from eating a salad once in a while. One day won't do as much damage as you might think, tomorrow is new day! Onwards and upwards!
• This! I read you have/had anorexia. The slowing down and destruction of your metabolism is another symptom of poor eating habits associated with anorexia. Please speak to your doctor and mental health professional asap.
• I'm a new 25 and 5'4" :) feel free to add me
• exactly what I did, and to be honest there is almost no articles/information that suggest it is a good thing, they pretty much all advise against it. Which in the world of Google is showing something..... Very dangerous and very bad for your body.
• Found from the following article; http://healthyeating.sfgate.com/five-bite-diet-work-9698.html On this diet, you skip breakfast and are allowed only five bites of food at lunch and five bites of food at dinner. You can also drink as much as you want as long as you stick to beverages without calories. Even if you take…
• Where are you located? I know there is a specialised store near me who actually puts you on a treadmill, watches you run, does a variety of measurements and then fits you to the right running shoe. Your body is important, so it is important to get the right shoe. This is their website, maybe see if there is something…
•
This definitely sounds like the easiest & most accurate way to do it! I am cooking for my husband & 3 year old as well though, & my daughter won't eat a whole serving, & my husband may want a little more than 1 serving, etc. so that would probably be difficult. I will remember this method for when I make things…
• If you mean canned beans, generally the nutrition info does not calculate the liquids, it is referring to the beans themselves so by logging the beans you should be accurate :) Generally with my recipes I create the recipe (adding all the ingredients into MFP). For example, if it was a soup I would put in whatever…
• If you can jump online try ASOS.COM they ship for free and their stuff starts from $5. They have a mix of expensive and no so expensive items but you could probably pick up a decent amount of clothing (at least the next seasons worth) for under $100. I often purchase my work clothes from their as I hate parting with money…
