Among the things I'm self conscious about, I have sparse eyelashes and they're short. I just found a 'lash bar' and for $75 (+ tax & tip) I can get extensions. It takes an hour.
Ladies, does anyone have experience with it and are you pleased with the result?

Personally i LOVE the look, but they aren't practical for my lifestyle. Keep in mind they will fall off eventually, just make sure you follow all after care advice to get the best results. One of my best friends got them steady for about 6 months, and loved them, but got sick of paying for them.0

I have only used the party ones (24-48hr). However a friend of mine has had the ones that you're referring to for over a year. She has to take a break every now & again & get a full new set on every 4-6wks. They do look very nice aside from when she's due a new set & most of them have grown out/dropped off.
Long term I'm not sure how good they are for your lashes though? Oh! Also she went with the long set first & looked like a startled Bambi so she dialled it down to the mid range length after that. Hope it helps.0 -
A couple of friends at work have them and they look beautiful but I would personally worry about the damage to my real lashes.
Alternative: DIY lash conditioner or the rx stuff but that comes with possible side effects.0 -
Hmm this sounds interesting.0

I want them bad !!! But apparently they sometimes cause damage to your real lashes . They are also about to be illegal in California soon .0

I had them for a year. LOVED the way they look. BUt unfortunately over time, you can develop this condition called blepharitis. Its kind of like a horrible allergic reaction. Well, my eyes swelled up and itched horribly. Couldn't even hardly leave the house it looked so bad. And yes, I lost a TON of my own lashes.
Last Christmas, I tried to get them put on again for our company party. I thought that MAYBE since I had them off for a few years, I might be able to get away with it. Nope, 3 days later my eyes swelled up like itchy red balloons.
I understand the draw to them, they looked AMAZING. But now I know its just not with it. I just use a glue on strip for special occasions, and thats fine.0 -
I've heard horror stories about lashes falling out if they're not done correctly but I also know a few people who love them. I've been using the Younique 3D fiber lash - it's all natural and it makes it look like you have on false lashes with none of the upkeep. I'm not a rep or anything so I'm not trying to sell you on it, just figured it's another option to check out. Its green tea fibers that adhere to your natural lashes and you can build them up, then you just seal with a gel coat. It's $29 for a tube and it washes off at night. Might be worth looking into if you're not completely sold on false lashes, or if you do get lashes between touch ups. Either way if you get them let us know how you like them0

Yes I just got Youngiue 3d too.. It actually does work really well!0 -
I have had them done a few times, try and get 'silk' ones if possible. I do have to say think before you part with the money because they need to be maintained. Basically after a few weeks clumps will start falling out and you will look a bit patchy in the eye area. This is why I don't do it anymore, I just couldn't keep up the maintenance.0

I've not done that before, but I've noticed that my lashes don't do well if I use cheaper mascaras. If I get the nice ones, like Tarte brand, for example, they grow well, are thick and long.0

This happened to a very good friend of mine. She now can't wear any eye makeup while her lash line and eyelids heal. To be fair, the extensions looked amazing when they were on. I just don't know if it's worth the risk.0 -
I did it and it looks very nice.I think you have to take care of eye's hygiene well. It's kind of hard while you have to do so too. And you have to spend money 3-4 to refill. I think you should just try it once to see. ^^0

I have white eyelashes. I use mascara when I'm going out. My daughter sells an eyelash lengthening product which does look amazing. Unfortunately, I just don't have the patience to apply the multiple coats that it requires. I've also used Revitalash which really does work but I find it stings a little and I just don't care enough to apply it daily anyway. It will get the eyelashes to grow and thicken, though so I would recommend it. I think you have to get it through a doctor or spa.0

I get them pretty often since I cannot wear mascara. It makes my eyes red and smudges. Hate the stuff. I've gone to the same place for them every time. The result has varied with the product used. The newest incarnation is feather light, and doesn't damage my own lashes at all. I have never had a bad reaction to it. Full set is time consuming and costs over $100. But if you keep it up every 2 weeks, they charge a fraction of that and it only takes a short visit.
Good luck.0
