subtract fiber from carbs to get net carbs. if something says it is 27 carbs, but has 7 grams of fiber, count 20 carbs. I try to keep around 60-80 net carbs for the day, but they are not sugar carbs. my sugar intake is usually below 10 grams per day. the carbs you do eat need to come from unprocessed, low sugar sources, or…

agreed with previous posts, you can justify anything, but this is really an excuse. don't let anything get in the way of your fitness, including your own rationalizations.

add a protein shake that is low in carbs and sugar (I like muscle milk light mixed with almond milk) for after your workout. cut carbs or try carb cycling to give your metabolism a reset/boost. add some strength training to increase muscle mass, and make sure you are checking measurements, which can be changing while no…

I think the bigger question is why do you care if a stranger thinks you're ok, lol!!! :flowerforyou:

Me too!!! LOL!!

I am a skinny person who drinks diet soda. I don't drink it excessively, but I think to each his own, it's not been hindering my weight loss efforts and I dropped 60 pounds!

Same here, today I did 720 in an hour. I've been at it for three months and love it. I even have a knee injury but I can spin!!!

Cut out carbs for a week and don't eat your exercise. See what happens and tweak it from there. Good luck!!! And welcome!!

Chest strap that comes with a watch is absolutely the most accurate and not uncomfortable at all. Mine is Polar Rs300x. I love it and it gives a very accurate calorie count for my workouts. I was astonished at how much more I was burning than the machines were saying I was.

I agree that youre most likely overcooking it, and also agree on the George foreman, it's practically foolproof! Pounding chicken breasts out flat and then rolling around fillings like spinach and cheese or other veggies is delicious, impressive to look at and healthy!

Diet and exercise only for me, 45 pounds lost since September.

Agreed, plan, plan, plan. Make a list of foods you think you will be eating and take it with you to manually track. Portion control, and daily cardio. Stick to seafood and veggies you will be in great shape! Have fun!!

I do weights three days a week. One day I do machines for shoulders arms and back, one day i do machines for legs and one day I do abs, free weights and floor exercises. I mix up the machines so that I don't get bored and so that my body doesn't get programmed to what I'm doing. I do the heaviest weight I can comfortably…

I am on a restricted carb intake and getting excellent results from it. Feel free to add me if you want to view my diary.

I work out Monday through Friday. Mondays and Fridays a half hour of weights and an hour of spin. Tuesdays, half hour cardio, (bike or rowing) plus machines for arms, shoulders, back. Wednesdays, half hour of cardio, machines for legs, butt. Thursdays, half hour cardio plus appioitnment with trainer which is usually abs…

I don't care who wants to come to the gym, just wipe down the machines!!!

I have a polar rs300x and the manager at the gym said you aren't supposed to get the thing that snaps onto the chest strap wet. Makes no sense since the watch part is water resistant. Now I have to go and read the manual again, haha.

I have a torn ACL and take spin class twice a week. I don't know about torn LCL, but you might also try rowing on the stationery machine.

I agree with the heavy cream. Please take a second to look it up, although higher in fat and calories than milk, it has very very low carbs. I follow a low carb diet and worry less about the calorie count than the carbs, which i aim to keep under 60 a day, and usually even less. Splenda is low carb and fine if you aren't…

You can add me if you like to look at my diary. I keep my sugar under 15 grams most days. (don't look during the holidays haha). I do watch my carb intake very closely as well, and it's the key to my success. Everyone loses weight differently though, so you are the only one who will really know if you need to cut out…

I like muscle milk light, comes in many flavors, I am currently using one called cake batter. It has a lot of proten (16g p scoop), and is low in sugar and carbs. It's very filling, I use it as a meal instead of breakfast, and it's useful for rebuilding what you broke down after working out. If you are just starting out I…

You could also try calorie cycling for the week, eating less calories the two days before and after, that way the total calories for the week still balances out to a reasonable value and you can indulge in a few treats. Make sure to get a good workout the day of or the day after so you get right back on track.

Right, for my intervals I only count the actual time spent working, not the rests in between.
