I take an SSRI and it has been a life saver! I hadn't realized how neurotic the peri-menopause was making me until I wasn't neurotic anymore. I also take birth control to help regulate my suddenly wonky cycles. Some months it helps and other months not so much.

That is an awesome accomplishment and you should be proud of yourself! Congrats!

This is me as well!

I'm a rambler and I absolutely cannot stay on topic. My husband says talking with me wears him out trying to keep up with my lightening speed topic changes and verbal acrobatics.

I just recently discovered fennel bulb. I love to slice it up and munch it raw. 100g is around 65 calories and I find the licorice taste to satisfy my need to eat as well as my sweet tooth.

Finally back on the boards after surgery last week and I find this invitation to a new group. It made me feel all warm and sparkly inside, though that may have been a hot flash *grin* I'm 36 and have been dealing with perimenopausal symptoms for about two years. Mine are health related as I've had to have my thyroid…

I went the cold turkey route because I am absolute rubbish at moderating my intake. I found that setting up a countup widget on my computer helps me to stay away. I'm very competitive with myself and I like seeing the bigger numbers. I slipped once and made myself reset it and that bummed me out. Now I'm at 78 days without…

I have logged it as exercise the last week or so, as well as the time spent walking around my house, but I'm recovering from emergency abdominal surgery and any movement is exhausting and makes me sweat right now. Normally I would only log it if it was outside of the norm, ie cleaning and organizing the basement storage…

I'm 36 and have been dealing with it for 2 years now. Everybody has their own biological timetable for when and how long, your's is just just on the earlier side.

Congratulations! I just started C25K Week 1 Day 1 this morning and I'm feeling pretty skeptical that I will ever love doing it, but I swore I would see it through. I can't even imagine running a 10k right now.

That's right! You will succeed because you want it and no one will stop you from getting it!

I've had days like that too, and it's so easy to say I give up. It's probably the last thing you want to do, but I recommend getting out of the house and moving- even if it's just a walk around the block. Sometimes that helps me to get past a down day. HTH and I sent a friend request :^)

Yay!! Keep up the awesome work!

Looking good!

I usually have a bowl of oatmeal with a scoop of vanilla flavored protein powder, a cup of fresh/frozen blueberries and a half a cup of nonfat milk. All together it's about 373 calories and it keeps me satisfied until lunch.

I've lost many loved ones to cancer and have been through it twice myself (original cancer and secondary cancer caused by treatment for original oy!);

I was formerly active duty Air Force and now I'm an Air Force wife. We're stationed in Germany right now.

Can I join too? I had to have my thyroid removed a couple of years ago and it threw me into peri-menopause almost right away. I take birth control pills to help mitigate the worst of the side effects, but I still get crazy mood swings, hot flashes, and night sweats. I also gained 30 lbs on top of the 25 lbs I gained after…

A support system is the most important piece of exercise equipment in my life. The elliptical machine and free weights don't care if I use them or not, but friends do care if I use them. I always joke that I don't need a partner, I need an enforcer. Feel free to add me as a friend.

Welcome! I'm new here too so feel free to add me :)
