Hey..I'm 33. Work full time. I have two not so little kids anymore 16 and 11. The last few years I have put my fitness in the daily to do list :)

Sine she was a dancer before..she might enjoy Zumba.

Eggs, cucumbers, bananas

Did you check your heart rate after you were done running? If not it was still using the workout heart rate.
-
A good estimate would be 10 calories per minute. Sometimes its considerably more and sometimes its less, but until you get a monitor it would be a nice number to start with. (it was for me)
-
So..the way the program works is 3 days of lifting weights (no cardio) and two days of cardio (using weights). I am very happy with the program and the weights I am using. Thanks everyone for their help and incouragement with the question at hand.

I work out at home. I just started Chalean Extreme. There are different moves throughout the entire workout. Before that I was doing P90X with 12 lbs. I couldn't do some of the moves with heavier weights if I tried. I'm sure I will get stronger as it goes on and increase again, but for now...15lbs is where I am. So far it…

It may not be lifting to you, but its a good start for me. By the time I finish my reps I can't do any more. I will lift heavy like the bad boys and girls one day, but for now..that all I got. So far I have been logging it as cardio because I can't figure out another way.

I am looking forward to being "arm candy" for my husband...lol
-
Anyone else?
-
Thanks..I will look in to that.
-
Let me also add that I run a few times a week, but I already know how to figure that part in :)

I too am very busy..a trick I use is to pre log what I think I am going to eat for the next day. Also, I have the MFP app on my phone. That way I can log on from anywhere. Sometimes I log while I am eating. Good Luck

Just remember...time will pass regardless if you are losing weight or not. It is better to be 5 pounds down in 5 months than none at all. Slow is better than not at all. Also, you mentioned your crappy food choices. Why don't you try adding some healthy food in the mix and see if you "feel" better. Do you workout? Maybe if…

Instead of 2 hours at the gym..why don't you try a workout dvd or go for a short run or something. I don't normally workout for longer than an hour a day (if that) It makes it easier to stick with it when it doesn't consume my entire evening. Good luck!

I have finished P90X. I didn't lose a lot of weight, but my body toned up quite a bit. I still throw it in to my rotation. I'm not the biggest fan of the "cardio" portion, but you can't beat the abs and arms.
-
I did it..and loved it! I would recommend getting the hand and/or ankle weights to go with it.
-
In my experience, I work through the pain. By the end of the workout I have warmed the muscles up again and they hurt less (for a bit)
-
Don't eat. Having 1200 extra calories for one day isn't going to hurt anything.
-
I don't see a problem with losing 5-10 pounds in 5 weeks. That is 1-2 pounds a week. Sounds good to me! Just keep at it. In five weeks you will be that much lighter and looking towards the next 5 weeks.
-
Patience! Some people lose slower than others, but if you stick with it then you will see results.
-
Yes, this is what I've been successfully doing. I try not to make a habbit of eating like crap. Mainly because it triggers me personally to want to overeat, but I don't DIET at all. I just try and make sure that whatever I do eat fits within my daily calorie goals.
-
Sounds very selfish to me! Get some self control and skip the zumba for tonight!
-
best thing - I now feel like I have the knowledge to properly eat and lose weight without "being on a diet" I found a way of life that I can stick with worst thing - Creating your own recipies takes quite a while, but atleast once you put it in it's there to stay
-
My teenage daughter told me "you're not THAT fat" Nobody had ever said that word to me before.
-
I have done only Turbo Fire, but it is so much fun and I saw fantastic results. :)
-
You can always just do the fit test on top of the regular workout...its a good calorie burner on its own. Or the "rest" week has a good cardio workout that isn't hard..you could add that additional as well.

I get teased at work because when they have the birthday celebrations I bring my own dessert and let them have the cake. That way I can control how many calories I am consuming. Makes me a little crazy, but I work out way to hard to waste it on a box cake..lol
-
I have been losing weight just staying under my calories. I do try and get the healthy food in, but I made a commitment to change the way I ate forever and not just while I was losing weight. I have been known for "Nacho Sundays" during football season and still lost weight. My goal is to not deprive myself of what I want…

A 12 minute mile really isn't bad. I guarentee there will be a ton of people slower than that. Just do it!
