  • Hi, I'm 5'9 and currently at 231. I started out at 277 with MFP in Sept 2011 and my goal weight is 150. Right now I am just really excited about the possibility of getting under the 200 mark. If I can do that, I can keep it going.
  • Well, I've lost 4.6 so far: SW: 239.0 CW: 234.4 Slow but steady wins the race...
  • Thanks for posting and congratulations on your success. My story is very similar to yours. I'm 58 years old and have been a yoyo dieter for most of my adult life. I have been on so many different diets and spent so much money over the years that I had just given up on losing weight. Last September, I went to the doctor and…
  • I agree with Netchik. You need to start at a lower dose than prescribed and gradually increase it. Also make sure you eat protein with it and eat before and after taking the metformin. I used to take it after I ate and had issues. Then my doctor said to always eat something after taking it too. I don't have any problems…

  • I'm also a big girl in Texas! Feel free to add me as a friend if you want. I have been on MFP since the end of September 2011 and have lost 46 pounds so far. I want to lose another 80 or so pounds and then keep it off. I'm looking at this as a lifestyle change more than a diet. I've been successful with diets in the past…
  • Your before & after pictures are amazing. You really did a great job and are an inspiration to people that they can lose weight. Keep up you logging to maintain your loss and best of luck to you. Nancy
  • I have only a few MFP friends who comment on my posts. I was struggling for the past few days because of a plumbing problem that left me with 5 holes in my living room and half the carpet taken out. I posted yesterday that I was beginning to stress eat and thanked my MFP friends for their support. Out of my 28 friends, I…
  • You have done an amazing job with your fitness journey. I am inspired by your story and it gives me hope that I will succeed in this process too. MFP is such a wonderful site for support. Great news about the doctor!
  • I just sent you a friend request. I'm from Houston and 5'9". I have already lost 40 lbs since being on MFP and my goal is to lose another 90 lbs.
  • This is so great. I know you were very proud. You can be an inspiration to others just like you are to us on MFP.
  • I hope to keep using MFP indefinately. I hope it will help me maintain my weight after I reach my goal.
  • If you compare the calories the PT is putting you on, it's probably alot less than you were used to eating per day. As you lose weight, you will decrease your calorie level. I'm at 125 days logging on this site and I've set my goal to lose 1 lb. per week. I am looking at this as a permanent change in my way of living. I'm…
  • I am doing Zumba classes at the YMCA. It's really alot of work but fun. Hopefully I will get better at keeping up with everyone as I do more classes and lose more weight. I would recommend trying it. If you like dancing then you will enjoy it and it beats walking on a treadmill!
  • Happy One Year Birthday! Thanks for posting. You show that this really can work and you will motivate others to keep going. I'm at 107 days, 35 lbs lost and I hope I can keep it going to 365 days and beyond. You look amazing and have such strength and beauty. Congratulations! Nancy
  • Hello from Houston, Texas. I started at the end of September 2011 at 283 lbs. I'm now at 248 lbs, down 35 lbs. I am 5'9'' and would like to eventually weigh 155 lbs. My endocrynologist told me to start a food log and after trying several apps, I settled on MFP and it's great. I haven't really gone on a specific diet but…

  • Happy New Years to the 55 and over group. I live in Houston, Texas. I am 58 years old and a recent empty nester. I am the single mother of a 19 year old son who has moved out for college. I started with MFP in September and it has really been a successful tool. My doctor wanted me to start a food log as a way to lose…
  • I haven't lost over 100 lbs but my goal is to lose more than that. I joined MFP on 9/21/11 and have lost a little over 30 lbs so far. I have been faithful about logging my food and trying not to go over my calorie level. I am not on any specific diet except for the food log. It helps if you log your food before you eat to…
  • Thanks for the challenge and Happy New Year. I'm in.
