  • Hi there, same story here. I've been on Metformin for 3 months and the weight isn't budging.
  • Visalus is pure crap as far as quality protein is concerned. I literally felt sick when I tried it for a month and sent the rest back. Its main ingredients are cheap soy protein and some rice protein. You can get good quality whey for much less and its much tastier imho.
  • You are absolutely stunning! Congrats on your weight loss.
  • They are both GORGEOUS! But if you're going for a vintage look I' say the second pair.
  • I've had a couple of trainers now. It absolutely depends on how good the trainer is and how much YOU are willing to put into it. The trainer can't lose the weight for you. That being said, if you're not seeing them at least once a week don't bother. You can get the same meal/exercise plans online for much cheaper if that's…
  • OP: Yep the treadmill will work, up your incline if you want to burn more calories. JM is great, it adds strength training to your routine which will keep the lbs off long term.
  • Sounds like you've hit a plateau, girl. Things that I've found that have helped me: Up the exercise (cardio especially) Cut your sugar, take it out completely if you can Cut your carbs, I'm not saying don't eat any, I'm just saying eat less of them Eat as much "real" food as you can. Fruit, veggies, lean protein and whole…
  • Take a close look at the quality of food you are eating. Veggies, lean protein and real food always make a difference in my loss. Eat as little processed food and sugar as possible. Lastly, don't give up! You didn't gain overnight and you won't lose overnight either.
  • I had the same problem and everyone told me it was the "carb flu" and should pass in a week. 2 weeks later I was still weak and could barley think...maybe it's just not the right fit for you? That being said, if you'd like to stick with it, keep in mind your body is going from using simple carbs/sugar for fuel to fat. So…
  • Make home made pickles! Super easy and you can control the sodium. I add more vinegar to mine and up the garlic and dill.

  • Just keep at it! Sounds like you're doing all the right things. You didn't gain all your weight in 6 months, so it's not going to fly off you in 6 months. The Pred will make it harder for you to lose weight but it's not impossible, keep on going. In a year or 2 from now you'll be glad you did.
  • A cupcake is the devil. Delicious, sweet, fattening cakes in miniature form.
  • OP, I totally agree with you. People on here are overwhelmingly, needlessly cruel. They do this for many reasons but they all hide behind the anonymity of the internet. I wish you luck and much success in your journey. Ignore the haters!

  • I know exactly how you feel. My family has a history of obesity and I seem to gain weight if I just look at a cupcake. However, we all have choices...you keep fighting for your health and for your life. Or you give up and let genetics take over. What I've learned in all my years is there is no quick fix. Every day is a new…
  • What an awesome job!! The shirtless pics don't hurt either ;)
  • Hi, This happens to me sometimes when my hormones are out of whack. Could that be it for you? It looks like you're eating a good balance of food with plenty of carbs so not sure if its food related for you. Do you take a multi vitamin? Are you working out more then you used to ?
  • Go for a quick walk to clear your head. NO ONE is perfect and beating yourself up does nothing. After your quick walk do as much damage control as you can. Send apology emails if necessary. Best of luck and don't worry, everyone's been there at one time or another.
  • tonic water is a little bitter, lemony and sweet at the same time. Club soda/soda water just tastes like fizzy tap water.
  • Apologies, that should've said 100% agave tequila. Not all tequila is created equal and cheap tequila is not all agave.
  • The bottled Skinny Girl Margarita is awesome! It's agave tequila and super tasty. As for the bar I get rum and diet coke, or gin & soda. Red wine is great too if you're out for dinner.
  • I would say something along the lines of "Although I'm flattered you want to join me at the gym, I prefer to exercise by myself as its the only time of day I get to myself". Most people will understand that. Or if you do decide to exercise with them, keep your usual pace. They'll either sink or swim ;)
  • Well then it seems to be more of an issue of your attraction to him. Unfortunately, you can't make someone lose weight and be healthy. They have to want to do it for themselves.
  • I know where you're coming from. I hated that I put on weight as soon as my husband and I got together (50lbs worth in 4 years). But you know what? He didn't make me stuff my face, or not go to the gym. Those were choices I made. He just made it really easy to make bad choices. At the end of the day, you are the only one…
  • Something I find really helps me is to set out the menus on Saturday and go shopping on Sunday. I'll give you a couple of dinners for the week as an example. Pick one protein, one or two veg and one healthy carb, add seasoning or low fat sauces as needed for flavor. Monday Dinner : Chicken soft tacos, green salad with…

  • Well as you know, losing weight with PCOS is HARD. The best thing that I did was cut my sugar intake. Its made a huge difference and after losing 20lbs my periods became more regular. Good luck to you!
  • Love heavy lifting!! So much more fun then cardio imho
  • I think you need a new doctor! Your weight should not interfere with a PCOS diagnosis. Try to get in to see a PCOS specialist if at all possible. The thing that has made the biggest difference for me is reducing my carbs/simple sugar. Its difficult to lose weight with PCOS but it can be done.
  • Ah the cabbage soup diet, been there a few times. I can't even stand the smell of it now! Glad to hear you're trying something more sustainable.
  • I think the "sad belly button" is totally genetic. Both my father an I have this, no matter what weight. For reducing belly fat specifically, it may be your diet. Do you eat a lot of wheat or sugar? As soon as you cut those down you should see a flatter belly.
  • You can do this! I hear it's even easier the second time ;) Best of luck!
