  • Quinoa is a good alternative, lower in carbs and higher in protein...Spelt or Bulgar is also good....still gives you the satisfaction of eating carbs. and you don't need near as much as it's more filling :)
  • OK I had to chime in on this because it is an eerie coincidence! I was just talking to a friend of mine about the fact that I managed to do a 2 min plank for the first time and I am also a mom to "Aiden" and am 37....."insert creepy music here" LOL
  • I would totally recommend Kangoo, I live in London Ontario and there is actually a Kangoo class here that I have been taking for the past year, I didn't buy the boots as I can rent them for the class....I am thinking of buying them though so I can run in them as well. I can speak from experience that they are tons of fun,…
  • Just to play Devil's Advocate (cause I can't resist ;-) why would anyone want to do something that they "hate", spend months trying to convince themselves that they love it, finally get hooked on the fact that they can refer to themselves as a "runner" (because that does hold prestige in society for some reason?), only to…
  • I would like to join as well....been at a plateau for weeks so need a boost! thanks
  • That is amazing...you are truly an inspiration and look fantastic...congrats! And best of luck on the rest of your journey :)
  • For breakfast I usually do liquid egg whites (I just microwave in a cup for about a min. and voila), on Ezekial organic english muffin with low fat laughing cow cheese spread (or low fat cream cheese) with tomato or sometimes I chop up peppers and cook with the egg whites.....yummy and I find keeps me full all morning.…
  • I also did Atkins several years ago and much like most people who do it, I gained all the weight back. I would say the "downside" to Atkins is it isn't really sustainable in the "long run" and yes it can help to shed a few pounds short term but who really wants "short term" weight loss? After trying pretty much every…
  • Wow tough room...you guys are harsh! Always good to get some new snack ideas regardless of their "lack of magical powers" ;-) , gets boring eating the same thing all the time :)
  • This! On this journey EVERY pound lost is a success, and for that matter even every pound NOT GAINED is a success!
  • LOL.....def. dance :)
  • You look awesome!! Congrats :)
  • I don't swing that way...but hot :)
  • One thing I noticed looking at your diary is you are quite often over your carb limit and way under your protein limit. Maybe try lowering the carbs a bit and upping your protein. I found when I increased my protein intake I did start to lose a bit more weight and wasn't as hungry. Don't give up!....I was on a plateau for…
  • Thx :)....it isn't easy and I still have a long way to go...believe me! This site has been a great help though....just don't give up no matter what....enjoy your run!
  • I have lost about 20lbs in the last 4 months and I can honestly say I do see a difference in my cellulite. There is still some there but definately less! Two things I think have made a difference is Kettleballing (lots of lower body work) and something called Mineral Complex from Herbalife....a friend told me it was…
  • Just my two cents worth but I think this whole thread is missing the most important factor of tanning...SKIN CANCER! I think that no matter what your "skin tone" sunscreen is a must because no matter how beautiful your skin looks with that golden hue it won't be near as pretty with chunks missing out of it from biopsy's…

  • Congratulations! That is awesome! I am hoping to be posting the same pic soon!
  • I also have hypothyroidism and am currently taking medication, it is possible...just a bit harder! I have lost about 18lbs in the last 4 months and am still losing.. I would eventually like to lose about 50 lbs. There are a few things you should avoid that further aggrevate the condition....Raw spinach, strawberries, any…
  • I am also on Thyroid meds but don't have to wait to eat after taking them? When was the last time you had your thyroid tested? Maybe your meds aren't working, this would explain somewhat. Another consideration is that you are eating too few calories....the personal trainer I had a couple of years ago said that can stall…
  • Count me in...I definately need some motivation as have not been all that successful so far with my weight loss :(
