Elliptical user here. On average I do at least 20 mins.(sometimes 30-45 if I have time), 170 strides pm or above, 8 resistance, ramp at 6. (and of course fluctuate those numbers a bit at different times) I like it cause it's easier on my knees. I've never been a good runner, so when I'm on the tread mill it's misery. The…

It was a couple weeks ago but you asked for a review. Since I'm trying to lower my sodium I found salt free or low salt ingredients (as in the canned stuff). With that and eating a bit of Tex-Mex for the last 20 yrs I thought it a little lacking. So I threw in some garlic and a heaping tbs of Chipotle chili pepper powder.…

Can't add anything more to Banks. Definitely celebrate the fact that there is weight loss and that you are continuing to stick with your goals of better health. That's awesome. kudos *** to hating plateau's

Welcome and much success to you! :drinker:

Although I love jerky's they tend to give me indigestion. That wouldn't be to good before bed for me. I wouldn't make it a regular thing myself. But that's me. Were you able to figure the calorie amount per Jerky stick? Reason I ask that is that I usually don't eat just one. Did I mention I like Jerky's?

sleep (been hearing a lot this last couple weeks a good night sleep is important to weight loss as well as diet and exercise. I don't think I get enough sleep.)

First of all, welcome. You'll find lots of inspiration and motivators here. I plateaued back in Nov. and hung there thru Dec. A good way to break that is to change your routine. If you do the same exercises in the same order each time, try mixing it up or adding something new in. The body gets used to routine so…

I'm currently not doing a project but I like to whittle and carve. Did my first "spirit"/walking stick a few months ago. Thought it came out pretty cool.

FANTASTIC Tam Tastic!!! Roughly a year and a half. That's stick-to-ited-ness. It's very easy to get impatient. Though I've only been around here (MFP) for a few weeks this is very encouraging. Started my journey last March. WTG!!!

This is the advice I've been given and seems to be working so far for me. If you want to strengthen and tone, use light weights doing several reps. Say 20-25/ 3 sets. If you want to build muscle as in bulking up, go with heavier weights and fewer reps, 8-15/ 3 sets. (This should leave you quite sore the following day as…

Had seen a couple threads mention a page where one can post "before and after" photo's. But I can't seem to find it. Can I get some directions?

Congrates on staying the coarse! :drinker: I too hit a goal point this past week. 210 lbs (current wght) and steadily going down. Next goal point - 200.

Could I get a copy of that? I know I'm a little late in the asking. :flowerforyou: deltonic77@sbcglobal.net

Hadn't had a scale in the house since I was a kid. Joined MFP, bought a scale and now I'm on it first thing in the morning and right before I go to bed. :noway: I think it's more of a "new toy" kind of thing and I find it interesting the fluctuation within a days time. Perhaps being a guy my day to day weight doesn't get…

We just got our first scale for the house a week ago. WalMart, Target or any place like that have good ones for $18-50. Digital. Also if your house is pier and beam you may have a soft spot (board) in the floor and that could cause a little fluctuation. Make sure you have a solid base for it to sit on.

I've seen several great recipes (and tryed a couple) since here at MFP. Wanted to throw a plug out for Reynolds Slow Cooker liners. But the bag in the cooker, put the ingredients in, cook, fix your plate, put the leftovers in a container for the fridge, throw the bag away. No hard mess to clean out of the pot. And they…

BrandNewLaura ; I have read others mentioning the No Salt salt. May have to give that a look see. That will be good to use for cooking. healthy_is_best, hdtoolgirl, MsLadybug; I guess you can say I'm in the "next phase" part of this healthy living and need to make some more changes. Though I'm eating less (per day) and…

little wolfie [Good luck - I am in the same boat (high blood pressure, meds, etc). Personally I'm seeing if weight loss helps control my BP before I switch to a drastic low sodium diet, though I am trying to stay below 2000mg a day.] [/quote] Thanks and success to you as well. Since I've dropped some weight I have noticed…
