I was planning on starting it on the first as well. Would love the accountability because I've started this before and have yet to finish it. :)

I'm a huge believer in natural supplements to aid in sicknesses like sinus infections. A couple of things I use (when necessary) in conjunction with prescribed mess is Olive Leaf Extract. It's a great multifunctional supplement. Make sure you are drinking lots of water. Listen to your body but when you are starting to feel…

Yes, I think so. I tend to burn the most and feel it more on lev 2 so most days, I just do lev 2. I've had to start over because I took a couple weeks off midway through lev 3 and for the first couple of days, I did lev 1 but then jumped right in to lev 2. If u find it too difficult, u can always drop back down for a few…

Hi! I have 3 kids. Maddie is 9, jack is 5, and Claire is 3. No more babies in our house! My labors and births were great. First one was hospital with an epidural and a total of about 8 hours. The second two were water births at a birth center and they were both 3 hours from the time my water broke til the end. I typically…

Awesome times! I have only ever done 1 official race so far. Our local festival 5K in the beginning of June. I came in 6th in my age group and finished in 33:13. My goal was 35. I was pretty stoked! Now i'm looking in Lansing for another run later in the year.

I am currently stuck...would love to hear how others broke their plateaus.

That's crazy! Great job! I have a new found love of running thanks to C25K. It's been hard lately as its been pretty hot and humid lately in my part of MI. I struggle with my breathing when the air is so heavy. Happy Running!! Your mileage is pretty impressive!

My Polar FT4 came with an adjustable strap size that starts at M and goes to XXL. I'm about 34 around and it fits great. There's quite a bit of room to adjust down as I shrink too.

All of these are really good tips. I would also add that when you are walking, try to strike the ground when your knees slightly bent so your knee isn't locked. You will feel kinda silly at first but the lighter the step, the softer on the knee. Also, the shoe tip is a good one. Make sure you have a good pair of walking…

Are u running or just walking?

Thanks Carrie! I was wondering if it really mattered what kind of HRM. Thanks for the info. Thank you for the tip, Ladybug. There is a lot of good info on here.
-
I'm leaning toward the HRM.

Thanks for the replies! Now I need to stick with it and keep on running!

That's awesome! I see you biking around town all the time too! Keep it up! :)

Ice them...get fitted for good running shoes....and research good form running. Sounds like you might be heel striking and once I corrected my form, my shin splints subsided.

Thanks! You will totally get there! Once you do that first 20 min run, you will so surprise yourself!

Thanks!! :)

Pilates has a few moves that are great for thighs. Side Bicycle kicks and leg lifts.

Thanks guys! I do not eat less than 1200 ( I find it hard to only eat that amt and not be hungry especially with working out) but I do try and stay as close to it as possible and not exceed the exercise extras that are added. I'm losing, averaging about 1-2/week but started to get bogged down with thinking that I'm doing…

I am exercising 45 min /day (walking/running @ 4.0) 5-6 days a week.
-
Thank you for the link. So then if my BMR is 1546 and if I eat only 1200/day, I'm not eating enough to lose?
-
Me too.

This is all great info! Thank you everyone. I'm going to get fitted for running shoes in the next week or so. I don't run on a treadmill, I run outside exclusively. So I will try and stick to some sort of incline. I do notice a difference when running on flat sidewalk vs. uphill sidewalk. I need to do a better job of…

Thanks for the input! I was afraid it was shoe problem but I hope it's a shoe problem b/c that I can fix. :)

I have the same problem and think it's my shoes. I have been walking about 3 miles (takes about 40min) a day and it does get better. I am going to start the C25K program also. I've always dreamed of being a runner. Send me a friend req. and we can do it together.

Hi! I'm Brooke. I'm a mom of 3, 30 yrs old and trying to lose 30-35 lbs. by the end of April. Or get as close to that as possible. So far (I'm in my 2nd week of sticking to it) I have lost 3 pounds. I just started walking everyday but I live in Michigan and it's winter. As long as the weather cooperates, I'll keep at it.…
